Vacuuming is fine, but it may not be enough. Metallic thread tends to catch more than other threads and you may have bits of it that can't be pulled out by a vacuum alone. This is especially a problem

Cleaning out bobbin
What can I use to deep clean the bobbin area. It seems that an aborted attempt with metallic thread has created little pieces of thread that come to the top and mess up my bobbin. Can I vacuum?

If you get a a small thread ball or tangle at the beginning, my guess that you use the automatic thread cutter. I don't use it for sewing mode.
Also, it's still worth using the tried and tested

@ Carole - quickest way to resolve the issues - find a tech to adjust and set up your machine for the fabrics, threads and sewing you expect to do. There is no point in spending a moment longer
