Bravo Cheryl. I have taught myself everything I know about my machines as I live 7 hours away from a dealer. You tube has been a godsend as have the janome apps. I also joined online groups. I

NO, NO, NO! I mean the standard, wide hole needle plate. You cannot do the overedge stitch using the single hole plate.

By regular foot plate, do you mean the straight stitch foot plate? That automatically greys out any zig zag stitches.

You didn't say which machine you have, but the M foot is designed to be used with specific stitches. If you use it with the wrong foot the needle can hit one or more of the wires, damaging the foot

I cannot get my mc to allow me to use this foot. I have a regular foot plate on and the m foot, but when I go to use it the overedge area is greyed out. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong
