I cannot tell you what to do about getting your 15000 updated, but I can tell you that a dealer that did not sell me my 15000 offered to update it for me, if I had happened to bring it

The $150 for the update is for the hardware things that the upgrade will do. My dealer did the update and upgrade for $189. as that is what she charged (and other in my area in Canada

Are you in the NorthEast? My dealer will update for no charge even if you didn't buy from him. Great dealer- honest, helpful, and just a nice person! Everyone sings his praises. Bittersweet

I certainly do not have dealer connections but my guess is that he will upgrade it for you at a charge after he has taken care of the customers who bought machines from him. I had read

I've had this happen occasionally. When it happened to me I put my finger nail under the latch on the take up lever and very gently pulled it up a bit as it appeared to flat against the take up lever

So, what do you do about an update if you purchased your 15000 from a private owner? I thought I read that dealers were charging around $150? I would be willing to pay that, and have told my dealer

I have been using .JEF files. I don’t see any .EMB files anywhere. My 15000 has no problem seeing them. It’s the 12000 that’s messing up – says there are “no files”. I use the same flash

I had this same problem to the point where the dealer replaced the whole mechanism (takeup lever etc) and got it home and it did the same thing again, very frustrating! One person told me a quick fix

My 15000 was acting up before the update. I sewed fine for five months (new machine in April of this year). Then it started acting up in August.
I got the update in September but it is still acting

QUILTING UPDATE
I recently had my Janome 15000 machine updated in September and everything including the threader is working perfectly. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with the upgrade and my Dealer credited
