Thank you Maggie. I had saved the design as both .jan and .emb. The Jan file showed the font name but the emb file did not.....interesting.

Anne, yes, "convoluted" is a good word for it. I have found, from working in IT for 30+ years and supporting multiple operating systems and networking platforms, even before 'windows' was more than

It was a bit difficult to read your post, but it seems to be exactly the same instructions for Win 8 to find the BIN folder etc etc as I stated for Windows 10 (sort of thought it would be anyway!

I ended up going into program files to open the .dst and set the Emblink tool as the default. It worked! It was trial and error but now all .dst files will be opened this way. I have

You can set HLS to open the .dst file
I don't know what operating system you are using, but at least in myWindows 10 you can't set it using the normal Control Panel root - atleast I can't find

If you have your design in its native format, Jan for version 4, 4.5, Emb or Jan for version 5, open it, use the resequence bar to locate the lettering, click on the lettering and go to object
