Do you have the straight stitch plate on, or the zigzag plate? I don't think the first will let you move the needle to the right for a scant 1/4".

If you have the 12,000 or the 15,000 go to the icon on the machine that has the little shirt which is your applications. the look at your options and select piecing. that should give you a perfect
