This has set me a challenge to find a workaround if it's not possible. Didn't realize that you couldn't turn the lock stitch off for the zig zag - how about

I've only used size 90 topstitch needles, so I don't think I bent it in atoo small

I've only had my machine 2 weeks so am no expert - but I have owned various machines over the last 53 years - since I was 8.
The Janome needles are actually Organ needles anyway - take a look at

If you purchased this with a credit card contact your card company immediately. Also let the dealer know that you will ask your credit card company to reverse the charge if they do not give you the

In Canada, all Janome machines come with Organ brand needles. Brand is not an issue.

Thanks Vikki, if replacing the threader doesn't work I will certainlytake it back and make them fix it. I haven't sewn on it since, but I amgoing to document each weird thing that happens.

Jo, I don't think the brand of needle really matters with the needle threader (at least not on my machine). I have used both Janome/Organ and Schmetz. My threader works great most of the time now and

My understanding is that the straight stitch plate is suggested for embroidery mode because it has more control of the stitch quality.
My experience finds this to be true.
