Re: Needle off center

Pinguin

Hi,
I noticed the same and it became a bit problematic when I was doing rows of quilting, alternating the direction. I then noticed that the space between the lines of stitches were not equal, so I had to adjust the needle all the time and could not use the single needle hole plate.
So I have to ask my dealer to adjust this, next time I bring my machine in.

Thanks for the kind welcome! I love cookies! I have a new kitty and the puppies....hard to resist!

But I also have a question. My 12000's needle seems to be slightly off center. It is slightly to the left of the center of the clear foot (with red arrow) and the same amount to the left when trying to use the needle threader. Is this normal? The stitch is perfect and I do not want to mess with that, but my 1/4" seams are off.

Thanks in advance.

This is easy to fix with a simple adjustment, but you'll need your dealer to make it. It shouldn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes at the most.

Re: Pictures of stitches and built in designs

Jim_Stutsman <jim@...>

Yes you can use HorizonLink to work with those designs. Here's how:

1. Open HorizonLink and choose "Edit Embroidery Designs".
2. On the toolbar at the top of the window click "Design" in the "Place" section.
3. Pick your design using the folder list on the left.
4. Click the 12000 in the circle in the top left corner and choose "Print" to print a template.

Hi,
When I bought my 350E several years back the built in designs came with a set of full size templates and a card showing a smaller image of the built-in design stitch outs.  I found the stitch charts and design charts in the back of the book that has the pictures of the built in designs but no details on size or colors. Is there a way to see these designs in HorizonLink and print templates of them?

I also have MBX on my desktop in a different room...but opening each individual embroidery design in edit mode and resaving it back on a USB device and then taking that to my desktop computer to find out the size, etc., seems a bit tedious.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

Re: Oiling???

Jim_Stutsman <jim@...>

The only place you can oil is under the bobbin case. When you take it out you will see a hole in the hook race. It may look like it's full of lint, but DO NOT PULL IT OUT! That's a wick, designed to hold oil. If you have sewing machine oil you can put one or two drops on the wick every 30-40 hours of sewing. Don't use WD-40, 3-in-1 oil or anything but actual sewing machine oil. If you don't have oil, don't worry. Your dealer will take care of that, and all internal points, when servicing the machine. It's designed to run for very long periods without oil. With the exception of the wick, oiling falls into the "fixing what's not broken" category.

Welcome Jeannie! We're glad to have you. Feel free to ask questions when they arise - we don't get all moody if you ask something that's been asked before. Help yourself to some coffee and baked goods over there in the corner, and if you'd like, take a kitten from the box that Mona Kowznofski brought in this morning. Should you be a dog person, no worries. Bertie Bzpflk's chocolate lab had a litter of puppies this morning and she'll be looking for homes for them soon.

Yes, only one foot will be chosen as the icon from all those submitted.

I already have a favorite, but I would really appreciate your input
before I commit. In reviewing the designs, ignore those with a colored
foot on a white background. We've already decided to go with white on
color. The design with a white background also has colored background
icons, so just consider those in voting.

You may have heard news reports about Apple's upcoming iOS 7 operating system for iPhone and iPad. It's a radical departure from everything they've done before and we will be completely rebuilding our FootBook app for it. One thing required is a new icon. I've been asking designers for ideas and have narrowed the choices down to 5. I'm an engineer, with dubious taste, so I'm asking you color and style experts for your opinions on these. Before you pick, please see this page, which shows the old Apple icons against the new ones:

Now go to the photo albums and pick the one set you like best. Also indicate which colors you like.

I've got to make my choice tomorrow, so please respond as soon as you can. Thanks so much for your help!

I like choice 3 as it seems to fit well with the design style that Apple are going for with iOS 7 - clean, flat colour with a sharp image against a simple background. I think that the red and green ones stand out the best.
