Why do you prefer the unit on the back instead of the side?  I also have the 15000 and love it!  I’m also getting a gently used s9.

My 15000 App and this group

I recently upgraded from a Brother SE1900 to a used MC 15000 because I wanted a bigger hoop and I really liked the embroidery unit located on the back so it wasn’t a big production installing the embroidery unit.  I was deciding between a Pfaff and the 15000 and the location of the embroidery unit won me over.  But when I discovered this group and the My Janome app I was blown away by the support and the knowledge that is shared and was thankful I made the choice to purchase the 15000.  The app made the daunting task of learning all about these powerful machines so much easier and I constantly refer back to it.  I just would like to say thank you to everyone and especially Jim and Diane.

Thank you Diane for this wonderful video. It is great to understand new things and you have such a good way for the learning to happen. I’ve learned so much since I’ve been follow you in the last 17 or so years.

Checking with Diane, she prefers down but says you can do it either way.

Thank you so much for this detailed video.  I just want to make sure – you were quilting the pattern down as opposed to across?

The ones we’re using are rated at 100 lbs (45kg).

Thanks very much for making this video.  I would like to know the strength of the fishing magnets. Thanks, Claire S.

I am over the moon with this video! Thank you Jim and Diane! I have struggled with quilting large quits on the 15000. Those magnets that came with the machine are not strong enough. I can’t wait to receive my magnets from Amazon. Now I can sleep well at night!

In this video (YouTube) Diane shows how she modified the GR hoop for the Memory Craft 15000 to be used with magnets. We have just added a follow-up video to the My 15000 app demonstrating how to use this magnetic hoop to quilt edge to edge with an embroidery design. To view this video, open the app and choose the Videos tab at the bottom of the screen. Scroll to the very bottom of the list for Adaptations and Enhancements. Re: 15K leftovers

Debbie

Thanks Cheryl. You are right I mis-typed. I meant bobbin holders.

Re: 15K leftovers

Cheryl Paul

Debbie, Do you mean bobbins or bobbin holders (cases)?

Why I’m asking is because the bobbin holders won’t fit the CM17, so you won’t want them. However, the bobbins you use (pink, blue, red, and white plastic) will fit most Janome sewing machines.

I found the solution, wrong stitch plate.

Thanks, I'm thinking about giving it a try. Now if I can just figure out why editor will not  transfer designs directly to the 550e.

Any idea why her machine would suddenly give us the "Fat Error reformat message" after playing musical chairs with the adapters & cards. Did my flash card or ATA adapter then ruin hers? If I need to replace her ATA adapter & Flash card I will.

thanks,

mahjongg

Re: update: 10000 & Compact Flash Card

These errors indicate that data is getting scrambled on the way into the machine. If the same thing happens on your friend's machine as on yours, and she wasn't having trouble with her card, then we can assume the problem is either in the Compact Flash card or the ATA adapter that is used to plug it into the machine. If I understand correctly, and a known-good card from your friend fails using your adapter, then the adapter is likely the problem.

update: 10000 & Compact Flash Card

Highlights from thread dated Jun 6   #30463

Compact Flash card when inserted into machine gives me this message: ATA PC card Memory error  / Fat error in card  / Do you want to format?
Have reformatted it on the machine and on my computer too many times to count. Here's where it gets funny: If there are designs on the card I get this error. If no designs on card, the folders show up on the machine.

Went to friends house and interchanged the ATA Cards / Compact Flash between hers & mine. Here are the results:
Cannot write, card might be write protected and the Fat Error. The worst of it was when we were all done I put her card back into her machine and the Fat Error came up. We shut off the machine then turned it back on. Same message. So we shut the machine for about 5 hrs.  I turned her machine on then still got the the Fat Error reformat message. Came home and put both cards in my machine (also mixing them up) and it did not work. Got message Memory card Error, want to delete damaged data. Her card has always worked in may machine even though my would not work. After pressing error message 3 times (with her card) the AJ folder was listed at the top of the screen. My card said EmbF5. Just added  designs to card and reinserted into machine and this time it said “cannot use card”.  Any idea why this is happening especially to my friends machine. Thought about buying a new reader and flash card to see what happens.  Its just doing to many weird things. 10000 card reader works just fine. Any and all help would be appreciated.

thanks,

mahjongg
