Re: Diane's work book for the 12000

That's a good question I'd like answered as well! My 12000 "app" that I purchased was a cd to put on my pc only, as well as link to an online archive as I recall. I still have the videos saved & viewable, in the hard drive of my computer as well as the original FootBook on this computer which is 3 computers later! Also the links on my android tablet and the computer for the videos still works as well.
Look, I still have the bookmark to watch!

These are great videos!

Hi Jim:
I was checking my iPad and noticed I still have the 12000 app on it along with the 15000 one (which I love by the way). I then tried the 12000 videos and they all work as far as I can tell.
Did Apple just remove it as a app to purchase but the app still remains viewable to those who purchased it? Just curious.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I'm pretty sure I have done what you suggested. The machines go into my car in the morning and I'm using the couple of weeks until our final move to send them for routine maintenance.

I agree, the book would be no use to a beginner to sewing but for someone who’s familiar with different machines should be able to handle the difference.  Xx

That’s a really good idea,Cheryl. I’ll be sure and let him know.

I'm sorry Sharron, but the 12000 app is no longer available. Due to several months of no sales, it was removed by Apple. We had done all the updates we could think of, so we did not attempt to replace it with a newer version.

I've tried to go to the app but I'm getting an error message that my12000.com is not found.

Thanks Jim!  I did buy the book, didn’t study it completely but from what I saw the S9 has quite a few features of the 15000.  The main difference being the hoops sizes.  I like to see demonstrations as well have paper backup.  Know what Diane means about sizes of sewing rooms!  Mine is chockers!  Regards Mary

I agree with you !  The  JANOME  Company  really let their customers wallow and sink , as this machine is a really difficult machine to use and remember all the difficult stitches.plus embroidery!...Thank goodness that Jim & Dianne Stutsman were smart enough to break down the features and offer an APP for the owner to purchase at a reasonable price.

I would never have learned to use my machine fully without the My15000 app!  The workbook (which I have along with the addendums) is fine but not a substitute for the app in my opinion.

I say Amen to that too as I learned more from Jim's app than any book or manual.  It is great & it is right on front of my computer where I have access to it any time.  Thanks again Jim & Dianne for all your efforts. Shirley from NJ

Re: Putting the cover on for moving

Meryl, If you have the thread stands on, it would be best if you take them off. I don’t think the cover will fit well or at all with it left on the machines. The “black” covers have a flap. I flip it over to the back the just place the cover on the machine - I would also put the “tool” tray on the machine and the plastic covers need to be transported separately, but the tool case fits so nicely that I put it on, that way I will know where it is when and if I ever need it later and I just might remember where I hide it in its new home. Also you need to remove the embroidery unit so that the cover goes over to the table top, cords also need removing. The cover should then fit and once it is on, I flip the flap back to the fromt. I also think that both covers fit both machines, but there might be pockets in the 12000 that aren’t on the 9400, because I think that a hoop or two might just fit in them for taking the machine to classes.

I hope this helps you.

re "is the app a good substitute for the workbook"
My opinion is not really. They are both good and provide different purposes.
The app is good for showing the actual functionality of the machine.
The workbook goes through many hands-on exercises (much like Diane's samples she's making throughout the app) and for best results, you too following the Workbook should make yourself a Sample Workbook with your own fabrics. It's a great way to do a hands-on approach, and to have a record of what the machine has made.
To me there's nothing like doing it yourself to really solidify what you've learned, than to do it. Watching videos is great, and our memory can recall much, but the doing is an entirely additional level of learning.
Just my opinion!

Can I say, that I'm familiar with the S9 machine. And I think that many of the features between it and the 15000 are quite similar even though the tiles may be in different spots, they do much the same things. I think that the app would be helpful to an S9 owner given that the person can follow directions & think through what is being demonstrated.

Re: 15000 App updates

No, we do not support Windows on desktop or laptop. I spent half a year making something that would work, and it caused more headaches than help. If we were a large company, it's something we could consider, but since it's just me that's not an option. We are sorry to disappoint those on Windows or Android, but we simply cannot support those platforms.

Does the Stutsman app function on MS windows 10 and laptop?  Would like to have this app available.  The Stutsman reputation is well known in my neighborhood and it would be a great item to have to help those of us who bought this machine just a few years ago and have been without any on-hands instructions.  TIA Virgie

Re: 15000 app

Jim Stutsman

Thanks for the plug Mary. I can’t really say whether the 15000 app would apply to the S9, but I rather doubt it. All of the video was shot on the 15000 and is pretty specific to the features of that machine. The S9 was well after the 15000. Diane’s sewing room is not very large, and it’s jam-packed with quilting tools, thread, fabric, and more. For a new machine to come in, an old one must go out. Now that she’s a full-time quilter I don’t think we’ll be doing any more video.

hi Jim, I have an S9 and was wondering if the app would be suitable for this machine?  I have your Foot and ThreadBook apps, which I love and use frequently.  Regards Mary in Au

Thanks so much for using our app. Version 1.5.2 is the current and final version. It replaced 1.4.1. All the content is the same in both versions. The difference is the 1.5.2 allows for videos to be downloaded and played offline. This can be helpful for those on a satellite Internet connection, or for loading up for viewing on a plane trip. However for that feature to work the app must be running on iOS 10. The original iPads distributed by Janome cannot update past iOS 9. So the good news is that the app will keep working until your iPad stops, and you have the latest copy of all videos available. You just won't be able to update unless you have an iPad 4 or later.
