contacted Janome last week because I had to update HLS for my 15000.  Here is the link Janome sent me.  I had no problems with the update from this link.  Hope this helps.

Start by installing HLS from the CD. Then you’ll need to contact Janome to get a link to the update download to update HLS to 1.3. When you download the update, be sure to save it in case you need to do this again.

You could update to 2.11, but the V3 update would overwrite it. Since you have already arrange to have V3 installed I wouldn’t bother with 2.11.

Re: Ticking sound from Skyline S7 Model

Diagnosing this is pretty difficult from thousands of miles away, especially considering that it has stopped ticking. My best guess is that the initial tangle caused one of the internal stepper motors to get knocked out of position. This could cause things to be slightly off, leading to the sound. Turning it off & back on caused everything to be recalibrated during self-test, which would correct the issue. Since you don’t have noise any more I think there is nothing to be worried about. Sew and fret no more!

Ticking sound from Skyline S7 Model

Kathy Strabel

Good day, Janome Friends....
I was sewing on my S7 this afternoon and all was going well, then I got some kind of a thread tangle, so I stopped and removed my fabric from under the needle.  Then I heard a ticking sound coming out of the machine. I listened for a short while; it sounded similar to a clock ticking and seemed to be coming from under the bed of the machine, about halfway between the needle and the left side of the tower--where the "brain" is. It did not appear to be stopping on its own, so I shut the machine off, then back on again a couple minutes later. Everything was normal, so I resumed my sewing for the rest of the afternoon. Does anyone know what the ticking sound was? If so, is it anything to be concerned with? This is the first time I have experienced it. I got no error codes or warnings before shutting off the machine, the needle was stationary, as was the balance wheel. There was no other sound--no rubbing, squeaking, or anything else. Just that ticking. The machine was not hot. And before resuming my sewing, I inspected the bobbin area and re-threaded the top thread.  There was no birds nest on the reverse of my fabric. I hope I am giving enough information.  Any info appreciated. Kathy S   Camas WA

The QuiltMaker upgrade is version 3. In the US dealers were sent a USB for updating the machine, but customers did not get one. Your dealer apparently just used the wrong USB for updating. He/she also needs to advise Janome that you have upgraded so you can get a download to update Horizon Link Suite to version 1.3.

I have not used my 15000 for a few months.  Recently I had my dealer put the upgrade on it.
After I got it back I tried to put the hp needle plate on to try things out.  The machine did not recognize that plate.  I know it should because my 9450 QCP does.  After some research on Janome I did realize my machine was at ver 1.04 instead of latest Ver 2.11.  Is it possible that is the problem?  I received the new feet but no usb stick.  I don’t think that I received the new foot holder.  Don’t know if I should try to put the newer ver 2.11 on machine as I would not want to damage the machine.  Should have done my research prior to this.  The tech at dealer could not answer that question.  Thanks for any help.  Suzi

Re: "Not Responding"
Be aware that the HLS program periodically does this.
It happens when in Embroidery Edit mode and trying to open/insert designs into the project. Usually the message goes away and the navigation pane opens after a minute or so.
Then all of a sudden the problem isn't there anymore! And then it comes back!
I have contacted Janome about it, we even did a survey of my students to see which computers did it and which didn't.
One student was still running Windows 7 and didn't have any problems, but with Windows 10 we did have the problem, on some computers it was worse than on others.
So, given that, I assume it has something to do with a much needed update to the program.

Be sure to save the downloaded file in case you need to reinstall in the future.

Thank you, Jim. I contacted Janome in NJ. Their phones are ‘out’ probably due to the snow storm in the NE, but recording suggesting emailing them, which I did. I received an email response within an hour with download link. So, all is well.
Thanks,
Carole

Re: Upgrade Horizon Link

The V3 update to HLS is only available as a download using a link emailed by Janome. If you don't save that downloaded file, you cannot update after a reinstall. Contact Janome Tech Support through the website and tell them what happened. I'm sure they get this request often, and can send you a new link.

I have 15000 V.3 when I bought it 2 years ago.  When I recently updated my PC to Win10 from Win8,  HLS was uninstalled and had to be reinstalled.  The original CD (V1) was used so PC has only V1 installed and 15000 has 3.0.   Right now none of my designs can be opened in HL--message says "HL is not responding".   I am having to use the designs on my back up thumb drives .  I'm assuming it's because the computer does not have the same Version of HLS.  How do I update PC to V3?
Thanks,
Carole

Note stitch number you are on.  Remove hoop.  Turn machine off for a couple of minutes.  Turn back on.  Arm will move, might make a terrible noise, but will be calibrated correctly.

In the Foot Book the QR foot is a Ruler foot and PD-H is an Open Toe Darning foot.

I've found these feet and stitch plate for Janome 15000 and I don't know what they are for.  The feet are QR, &  PD-H.  The plate has 3 holes and I'm not sure what this is for.  I have a single hole plate, an HD plate, and another plate with one large opening.  Guess I need to use my Janome more often. As for the stitch plate, it is a straight stitch plate that you can adjust your needle to go to any of the 3 holes.
