Foot interchangeability with my MC12000 was a big selling point for me when buying the S7. Everything is interchangeable. I use the Acufeed Flex with the 1/4" foot a lot, and not just in quilting. I get perfectly even edges at the end of a seam when piecing, and it works great when sewing on bindings because I don't have to pin, just keep quilt edges and binding butted up to the flange. I can move the needle position quite a bit while in the Patchwork app if I want a wider seam than 1/4".
It's shown here at about 4:15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30U4rCHmT-s

Re: Embroider on terry cloth towels

I hooped pressure sensitive stablilizer in the hoop and smoothed the towel over. I used one layer of water soluble topper, and the basting stitch to hold it in place. The hooped stabilizer and water soluble peeled off easily.

Thanks to all for your advice.

I normally use washaway in the hoop and pin solvy on top with the towel.  You might have to turn the design around to accommodate the weight of the towel.  Sew slowly.  Never tried it, but a basting stitch might help.  Lots of ways of doing things!

That's what I did, though I may have only used 1 layer of WS topping. My towel was very deep plush, so I also sprayed lightly with sizing and smoothed the loops in one direction. I let that dry first and then hooped it all. The outcome was better than not using the sizing. No little loops popping up.

Jim Stutsman migrated his 12000 group from Yahoo to groups.io, so this may be the group you are looking for.

I had at one time been a member with a group that was led by Jim Stutsman. Is that group still active? I would like to get involved with that group again. Thanks!

As Mark Twain famously said, "The rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated." Yes, Cathy, the group is still active. You're in it now.

I am embroidering on terry cloth (not the velour type), but the loopy kind.  It's large bath towel.  Should I use a heavy tear-away on back  and 2 layers of water soluble topping on top?

Thanks,
Carole

Jan---and the Group----Hmmmm, well, no I had not tried using the Accufeed foot instead of the O foot. I was just following the directions in the manual. Goes to show that sometimes innovation works better than the instructions!!  I have not tried the Accufeed foot for this technique but I will in my next project. Time constraints dictated that I just go ahead and use my 1/4" seam foot and regular straight stitch to complete the many many seams in this gift quilt I am making.   Thank you for this information.

Yes, it works with your Janome even feed/walking foot. This video demonstrates how to use each.

I don't have the Ditch set, but I should think they would attach the same as the quilting guide bar...see page 61 of the Instruction Guide to see how to insert the bar through the installation hole in the foot.  I don't have the S9...I have the 15000 and other Janome machines.

Hi, just bought a set of Ditch Quilting Guide and adjustable quilting guide for my S9, was assured by my dealer it would fit, I presumed I would need the walking feet?  I can't figure out how to attach it.  Can anyone help please, have looked at utube and they cover the foot, not the guides.   regards, Mary

Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for your input regarding this. It is very interesting to note that Janome websites no longer mention MBX at all, it seems to be all about the Artistic Digitizer although the dealers here in the UK offer the full MBX V5.5 and upgrades to it.  I am curious to know as to what made you buy the Artistic Digitizer.

Lynette, the fastest way to get back to a design that “flown” away is to touch “1” this brings back the design in the hoop. To bring the design to fill the screen touch “0”. I have this frequently with MBX4 on my Mac with Fusion both on XP and Win10.

Re: My Janome 15000 does not read file EMBF file on USB stick

Helene - The exact same thing happened to me this weekend, took me an hour to figure out.  When you open the file on your machine make sure you select USB1 or USB2, and then make sure you page through the designs on your stick.  They are separated by Hoop size.

Yes, it took me over an hour to figure this out LOL!

I’ve not used Embrilliance, but I had MBX V4 which I upgraded to V5 and then V5.5, it’s not just running the program on the Mac that causes the screen to shift and lose sight of the design and the grid to enlarge and reduce, it happened on my win 7 laptop and on my Win10 PC, it’s the mouse, the wheel on the mouse zooms in and out, I think you can change that I the mouse settings.  As far as the screen moving, I think I read you can stop that by turning off scrolling in the settings in the drop down menu at the top of the screen, can’t remember which one.  It’s one of the set ups.

There is the Artistic Digitizer from Janome, which is written for both Mac and Windows, haven’t used it, and some love it others say it’s not very good, but there is a campaign on currently to download for free  and try it for free for a limited time, don’t know if that campaign is running where you are in the world though, might be worth looking at
