Thank you Jim!!

1/4" foot

I have a Skyline S9 and find that the 1/4" foot that came with it is not 1/4" from the center (default) needle position and the guide on the foot, page 90 of the manual. It is a generous 3/8". To get a 1/4" seam using the guide the needle position must be moved to the right at 7.5. Now this puts the fabric on all the feed dogs, but I find it really strange. Anyone else noticed this for your machine?

Re: Cover Pro 1000 CXP

Thank you for your feedback. I was having the same problem with my coverpro, change brand of thread and this lovely machine is working fine. It is a great machine.

I haven't used Virtual Box in ages, but what you need is in Settings. With the VM powered off, click Settings, then Network. You probably only have 1 network adapter. Click the Attached to box and choose Bridged adapter. That should allow your VM to see the 15000.

Jim,

I did not see Bridge mode when installing VirtualBox but I am able to drag and drop files from Mac to vm and vm to Mac so I can access cd drive and usb sticks.

Jim may have more info about this - but I think if you turn the handwheel backwards about 1/4 turn and have the presser foot up that the tensions are supposed to be released.  This works on my 644D Janome serger and is something that was one of the lessons in a generic serger class I have been part of.

Yes, you got an industrial or a needle for an older household serger or longarm machine.  When you order, check to make sure you are ordering for domestic or household sewing machines.  CTSUSA carries both and the price is fantastic:

Organ makes a plethora of needles for all sorts of machines. Many commercial machines use round needles with no flat side. Those won't work in your machine. Look for needles with the designation HA x 1, 15 x 1, or 130/705H.

Make sure that your virtual machine has access to the network. VMware Fusion defaults to using the Mac as the network, which provides access to the Internet, but NOT to local devices. Set up your VM using bridge mode for the network. That will allow the VM to see devices on the network the Mac is connected to.

Jim,

Thanks to your guidance, instructions and suggestions I now have VirtualBox, Windows 10 and Digitizer V5.5 up and running on my MacBook Pro which has a 27” ultra sharp monitor connected to it.  The only problem I have is that Digitizer no longer can find my MC15000 to send designs wirelessly.  This is a minor issue I’m not going to fret over.  Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us.  I never would have been able to go from pc to Mac and have everything up and running without your assistance.  I am very grateful.

I am glad you got it figured out...been there myself, even with the thread.  I opened three brand new (still cellophane-wrapped but no idea how old they actually were since they were given to me by a friend) cones of black thread once, and all I did was tie the threads on and pull them through, and boy-oh-boy did my 10-thread Pfaff 4872 dislike that thread!!!  I even completely re-threaded and it still hated the 'thought and taste' of that black thread...the same brand I was already using.  Since the color thread didn't really matter, I put the pink, yellow and blue threads back, and the machine just hummed along perfectly, so the black bull denim had a lovely pastel overedge stitch on it...LOL.

I have since bought more of the same brand of black thread, and the machine loves the thread.  No idea why it 'hates' those three cones...nothing at all wrong with them that I can tell from the 'tests' I did on them OFF the machine...LOL

Thank you so much for your help!  I did not realize that it had a delete key and I must have saved something and did not change any of the settings.  So I already must have had something locked in there.  Once I hit the delete all of my new settings showed up!

Re: Favorite Stitch Adjustment

This is how to save a Favorite Stitch (FS)
Select the stitch
open the adjust Screen
make the changes
select the button with the black arrow pointing down into a folder
Screen opens
you can save it as either FS1 or FS2
choose one of them
the screen goes back to the adjust screen and now you’ll notice that the stitch settings are pale yellow where you made the changes
you don’t need to sew it for the settings to set
next time you select the stitch it will open with the FS adjustments
If you want it to temporarily go back to the original Default settings, just select the DFT button and it will, and it won’t delete your FS.
To delete the FS:
open the adjust screen
touch the trash can
screen opens for the FS1 and FS2
select the one you want to trash, it trashes the settings and goes back to stitch in its default size.
