Hi Virginia , I sure hope you have good luck with your machine. They are do DARN heavy to lug around! I don't know what Jim thinks about this idea , but  I found that the yellow bobbin works well in most cases. 
The new all  cotton threads are so fine that they can act like a polyester embroidery thread., so I keep my yellow bobbin on the machine and even adjust thee tension on the pull up screen. 
 By the way, there is a trick to placing the bobbin case in correctly & maybe this is the case. READ & LISTEN again to the 15000 App on bobbin placement. Be extra  careful when to perform the shutting on & off the machine on this.

Thanks Jim.

I have the first item covered in terms of the Apple ID.

I think my issue may be buried in the third bullet.  I don’t leave my iTouch hooked to the Internet all the time because it really seems to drain the battery a lot faster.  At the time I was playing  with Threadbook, it was also updating a bunch of other apps.

The issue could also be an iOS one because I just checked and my iTouch is wanting to update to 12.4.5.  It might not be iOS 13 compatible.

If it doesn’t work with the iTouch, it is not a huge deal. I am leaning toward getting an an iPad mini to be my “on-the-go” iPad at the same time that I upgrade my primary iPad from a 6th Gen to a 3rd gen Air (with a lot of memory).

ThreadBook Question

Hi Jim,

I downloaded the ThreadBook to my iTouch (which is the latest generation). I wanted to explore using it when shopping (instead of taking my larger iPad with me) but when I go to My Threads, it does not show anything in my thread library and no backups. When I look at Threadbook on my primary iPad, the threads and backups are there. Is there a sync feature that needs to be done or something in settings to use it between two different devices?

I am actually looking at doing an iPad upgrade as a retirement gift from my family. So moving apps and content from one device to another is in my near future. Am still figuring out which iPad or combination thereof I am going to go with.

Just purchased the Footbook App ... This will be a good learning day, as I won't watch the Super Bowl  !  
 I love the 15000 App.   Janome really missed  the SCORE on that project idea , but so glad some one made a  TOUCHDOWN with it !  Thanks, Jim & Diane !

We live in an age when nobody wants to read instructions, so the people who design our technology stopped writing them. Many of you were probably, like me, told in school that we would spend the rest of our lives learning. Needless to say, this is not something any high school student wanted to hear, but it's turned out to be true. The pace of change just keeps increasing, and keeping up gets in the way of a lot of the things you WANT to do. In the case of web pages, the designers assume that you were born with a mouse in your hand and have been web surfing since infancy. For those of us that remember bobby socks and penny loafers, not so much! Adding pictures is easy once you know the secret. It's all about the icons, an idea stolen from Egyptian tombs. As you type your message, directly above the text you will see the icons I've shown in the attached image. The green arrow points to the one you click on to add a photo to your message. Once you've done that the rest is easy.

But WAIT - there's more! If you upload a photo right from your camera/phone it will be huge. Downloading will take a long time, and maybe cost the viewer for bandwidth. Viewing the post will be as annoying as it is to view this huge text! PLEASE, PLEASE resize the photo to something with a width of 1,000 pixels or less before you upload. Once you post it, I cannot change it. Thanks!


Adding a photo.....

Good morning---I want to make a post to ask a question and post a photo to illustrate something I am asking about. But I cannot find info on How To Post  A Photo to the Group. I went to "Photos" and see lots of albums and photos, but nowhere do I see anything like "add a photo". So, I went to "Files" to see if instructions were there, but I saw none. I typed keywords into a search box and got information on how to embroider on toilet paper---which, I am not ....ahem, interested in. at the moment.  What is the secret to uploading a photo to one of the albums.?I did click on the "emailed photos", saw a bunch of photos, but no instructions how to upload.    Is there a place where the basic group info is posted--rules, restrictions, how to structure posts, add and/or delete posts you have submitted, etc?    I see a paperclip icon at the top of this submission form----do we just attach a photo directly to the email we send?  How would the photo get into a photo album for people to see who might not ever see the particular email it was attached to?  I know, a lot of questions....but.    Thanks in advance  for comments/answers.

All of our apps will update automatically if your settings allow it. You have the latest version. We will be updating the content as soon as we can get the foot or two that are new. Usually these things are revealed by Janome far in advance of them actually being available. Thanks for using our app!

Im so thankful for the footbook app. I have sewn for years but often don’t want to take time to practice what I’ve learned , then something comes up and I need to do it again only to say to myself “how does this foot work?”  Well I wanted to do a rolled hem on a birthday dress for my granddaughter and couldn’t remember what foot or even how too. I opened my footbook app and “yahoo” just clicked and there was Diane’s beautiful voice and demonstration on how too!  Just wanted them to know how much I appreciate their knowledge of this machine. I wouldn't suggest purchasing an older version of Digitizer. The reason being that Janome Tech support is no longer offering support for it.
I think they quit support for anything prior to MBX 4.0 or 4.5, and they are now up to MBX5.5.
Also, I have MBX5 and Hatch 2. Both programs are very similar, both being made by Wilcom.
What I experience is that MBX has a few features such as Cutwork Tool, and Cross Stitch, that Hatch doesn't have.
But Hatch has some tools: Redwork, Cut Files and a different style of Photo Stitch that MBX doesn't have.
So my recommendation is to NOT buy an old version of Digitizer at all. Then decide which of the features between MBX5.5 and Hatch 2 that will be most useful to you.
Artistic: I haven't heard a lot of good comments on it from a few people who I know have it. I know when I was still working at a Janome shop that I much preferred MBX over Artistic.
Maybe it was just me, but I didn't find it as user friendly, and therefore never purchased it.
There are some good videos available to see how it works on their website. In fact search YouTube, there's so much available to watch to get a good idea of what you might like best.
Any software program is going to mean significant dollars spent, so do some research for yourself.

It seems pretty much universal that those of us raised by parents who went through the Great Depression of the 30s like to keep things "just in case". Having been involved with computers for more than 50 years, I have backups of backups. In fact my iMac currently has 11 external drives attached. I also have an offsite backup service that keeps a backup on each of our iMacs daily through the Internet.

The version numbers on HLS are in fact NOT synchronized. The 1.31 is probably because they found a bug as they pushed it out the door. If you have 1.30 on the component apps you're good.

Hi Jim,
Recently my good old MacBookPro (about 7 years old) needed the latest OS update to V1.15.2 and now .3 and I didn't have enough disk space for the computer to do this.  I then proceeded to delete some information and in that process, I buggered up a few things like HLS.  I somehow managed to keep the program but got rid of all the design files.  In my wisdom or stupidity, I tried to move them from one place to another - you see if having something in one place is good, another or 2 should be even better.  Well that didn't work, but at least now I could find them.  However, I wanted the program to be in tact on my computer so I borrowed my dealers CD of HLS and removed the old file from the computer and installed from her CD.  In the meantime, I managed to find MY copy from Janome from my upgraded 15000 to the QuiltMaker version so I'll be good in the future.

What I've discovered when I open Horizon Link Suite, it says that it is Versos 1.31, BUT when the program is opened and I click on the little circle icon on the top left of the screen, the dropdown menu - Version shows that it is V1.30.  What am I missing in all of this, or did Janome's programmers just miss in replacing that wording?  I know that to ask Kathy, my dealer when I'm in the store this afternoon WILL NOT give me a reasonable answer because she doesn't do much on anything with Janome in detail and may not even know what I'm talking about.

Oh, my MacBook is working OK - I did go out and buy a new 2TB external drive though to copy things onto, so I don't really lose anything again.  Nothing of any real importance is gone, just removed things that should never have been saved this long.  If you saw what Jim and I moved from one house to this latest one, you'd understand.  We find it difficult to sort and then THROW ANYTHING AWAY.  It just seems sacrilegious to us - must be the thrifty upbringing we had with what our parents went through in the 1930's, we being some of the first offspring of that generation.  You know "waste not, want not"?
