Re: AcuDesign and the new IOS 13
It might be worth searching for AcuDesign in the App Store and downloading it again. If that doesn’t do it you may have to wait for an update to AcuDesign. There are sure to be others having trouble. You might also try signing out of Dropbox, then signing in again. In AcuDesign you could try turning off the Dropbox option, then turning it on again. Tomorrow I will use a different iPad to see if I can duplicate your problem and find a work-around.

Re: AcuDesign and the new IOS 13
JILL BAILEY
Jim thank you for the very detailed response , sadly I can’t get past number 7 & 8 .. it was saved as you said and I followed the instructions to a tee but when I get to the number 7 and press share AcuDesign is not there , then in number 8 when I press more the AcuDesign option is not there in the list Acuedit is but not AcuDesign , it’s nowhere to be seen . I’ve saved it to Dropbox and my Unzip app and to files app it’s from Emb Library, it’s in all my normal places but none of them can I share see the AcuDesign box option ...
Am I missing a setting somewhere???

Question about 14000
J Fraker
I seem to recall reading that the 14000 is the same as the 15000 without wi-fi? Is this correct?

Re: AcuDesign and the new IOS 13
Virginia those instructions apply only to macOS on a Mac computer, not iPad. There is no comparable setting in iOS, and there are very few programs that need full disk access even on a Mac.

Jill I am not sure this will work but this is what I received from Brian at Embrilliance.(I have not used my iPad in about a week so not sure if this will be related.) Go to Settings, System Preferances: Click on Security and Privacy Select "Full Disk Access" from the list. It should be on your left. Click the "lock" it should unlock it which will allow you to make changes. You will need to enter your Mac password( the one you use when you log in your Ipad). Click the '+'button which should open Finder in your Application folder. Select the application you have installed that should unlock it. You will need to do it for each program from what I understand. Again not sure if this will help, if not then I guess we need to contact Janome.

Re: AcuDesign and the new IOS 13
We seem to have reached the point where Apple is having trouble keeping up with their relentless schedule of a new release every year. Just a week after iOS 13 hit the street they came out with 13.1, and 13.2 is already in beta. Dropbox is probably keeping up, as they have a huge user base. AcuDesign got broken when Dropbox went from version 1 to version 2, even though they had almost a year's notice of the upcoming change. Janome has consistently promoted Dropbox as the best way to manage design files in and out of AcuDesign, so a lot of people had problems until the update was released. I suspect there is a similar problem here. Apple made iOS 13 available to developers in June and made detailed videos available on the upcoming changes. The company that made AcuDesign for Janome also does Artistic Digitizer, and they may be focusing more on that.
Putting away the soapbox, I was able to get a design into AcuDesign from a zip file using these steps:
Then there is AcuDesign. After the Dropbox V1 to V2 fiasco they should have been prepared for iOS 13, but there has not been an update since version 3.1 a year ago. This has left users to find work-arounds so the software can continue to be used, and explains why the app has a 2.1 star rating from 35 reviews. I am again reminded of my favorite quote from the old "Peanuts" comic strip when Linus famously says "There is no heavier burden than a great potential."

Re: AcuSetter
Sharon Simmons
Thank you, Diane. I have 16 embroideries to sew out on the same panel and I didn’t want to keep setting them up in the clothsetter. I’ll try that, and Virginia, yes my wifi was working. My mistake as I thought the design would show up on the screen before I did anything. Sharon
It won’t show up until you take a picture of the background and adjust the positioning marks then touch next. You will love this program.

Re: Funny thingsd

Randi, that would have been comical to see esp to someone driving by. How many times does one see someone sitting in the driveway sewing up a hairy gorilla suit?

Funny thingsd

Every body always wants to know what you are working on. Well a friend asked me to do a special project for Halloween, so I agreed to help. It turned out to be this really long hair fur that was for a gorilla suit. It was really hairy so I took my 6500 out to my driveway and stitched it up. I did not want that hair in my house! Some neighbors couldn't stop laughing that I was making a gorilla suit in my driveway! It came out great but I really need to clean my machine! I am so happy that I have kept the 6500 because I would not have done it on my 15000.

When I try to receive the design, I can see on my sewing machine a screen that acts like it’s transferring but it never appears in my ipad. Thank you for your help. Sharon

Re: Heavy Duty machines
Viola Tani
The curiosity got better of me when I received a newsletter from Janome UK the other day and it showed there is a new sewing machine just coming onto the market and that it is mega expensive. That is the M7 Continental. So I went to the Knitting and Stitching Show in Ally Pally, London, today to see it. It is big and beautiful. Jayne showed me how it effortlessly sewed through a very thick layer of folded felt at high speed, I was impressed. I bought an Atelier 9 (S9) from there last year so could not buy another machine this year and I have run out of space and do not need another machine but was tempted. The price of it is £4,999 but as a show offer, it costs £1500 less during the show that ends on Sunday. That is a good price. Viola

Re: Heavy Duty machines
I bought an inexpensive Singer "heavy duty" for sewing jean purses and found that my Janomes (9400, 12000, 15000) sew thru all of those layers better. And, after being use to Janomes and computerized, I found the Singer hard to use because I kept forgetting it would sew with the foot up, etc!!

Re: Decorative stitches - horizontal mirror image
The grays-out key is actually the vertical mirror key. The reason this stitch cannot be mirrored is due to the way the stitch is formed by the machine. Horizontal mirroring just flips the zigzag direction, swapping zigs for zags. Vertical mirroring for stitches that have reverse cycles in them is much different. It changes how the stitch is made, which essentially means it must be redesigned for completely different feeding. The machine does not have the ability to do that.
As an aside - due to the way this website processes attached photos, a full-sized picture becomes huge and also takes much longer to send. For those on a cellular connection that means extra cost. When including photos it's better to resize them first. We also have limited space for photos, and our storage is about 60% full. I don't have the option to buy more space without going to a much more expensive plan, so when it's full I'll have to delete some.
