The 11000 was released without a 5 x 7 hoop. After enough people complained Janome brought out hoop RE (rectangle) which is 5 x 7, the same size as hoop B on the 10000. They need to do it for the 12000.

I was just thinking the same thing to myself last night about wasting so much fabric. Maybe some light spray and stitch it in the hoop before we start was a suggestion to me by a friend? But I agree with you.

Wow! What the heck are you putting those on, a shower curtain? These designs are too large even for the GR hoop. At 80% the 339 width comes out to 271, which is still bigger than the 230mm width of GR. The best approach would seem to be to use Combine mode in Digitizer 3.0. Tell Digitizer that you have an 11000 and set it for hoop SQ. Then place the hoops on the design parts to get it in SQ-sized pieces. Save those to USB and print the template. On the 12000 each design will open for hoop SQ23. As you are hooping the fabric, use the printed template to make sure the crosshair lines up with the crosshair on the plastic hoop template. It doesn't matter if you are off a little, as long as the lines are straight. Before you start stitching each piece use the JOG keys to move the hoop so the needle is directly over the center of the printed template crosshair.

I just wanted to post the first pics of the first set of quilt blocks done on my new MC12000. I embroidered all day and all night for a few days just so I could finish these up. I had surgery last week and wanted to make sure I had them all done before I forgot what I had intensions of doing! LOL! Sashing and assembly will now be much easier. Just wish the 12000 had a smaller hoop so you didn't have to waste so much fabric. I loved the RE hoop...

I have the 12000, but only Digitizer Pro Software. No MBX yet. I bought a Husqvarna design that is huge--two parts, each part 345 mm height by 339 mm width. I thought it would fit in the SQ23 or GR hoop, but it doesn't. So I opened each half of the design in Digitizer Pro and resized it down to 80%. It will save in DigiPro as a JAN, but not JEF, as it says I don't have a hoop that would support that. So I created the GR hoop in DigiPro, but now the program says my machine won't support that hoop (I had a 10K). So I told DigiPro that I have an 11000, and it still won't save the design in JEF. So, I exported the JAN file to my thumb drive, but the 12000 won't open it. I also tried to open the original JEF files and resize them on the machine, but because they are too big for the GR hoop, my machine isn't seeing them. Do you see any way around this, so I can sew out my two designs, or do I have to wait until I buy MBX? I would also be thrilled if I could combine the two halfs of the design (it's heart design) so I don't have to try to match them up, but I have no idea how to do that. I'm not sure I know how to match them up without a clothsetter, either! Any help you can give me is so, so appreciated. Thanks much, Alison

To get it to start stitching without a foot control you must push the START button, and STOP to stop stitching. Use the slide control to set a medium speed. It's not necessary to lower the feed dogs - the machine will do it for you. When you choose variable zigzag on the Application key (T-shirt) and Quilting, everything is preset for you.

I put feed dogs down (I think). Got to the page where I select Center 2 or Left 2, put in the knee bar, I have QV foot attached to the ankle that was attached to "A" foot as I see no other ankles that will work. I removed foot pedal &couldn't get it to start stitching. Now I can't find the place where I selected Center 2. What am I doing wrong?

The Husqvarna Yarn Couching Feet Set can be used for free motion but it is also used with Special Husqvarna Embroidery Designs which were designed especially for those feet which the cord or wool is threaded through guides on the back of the machine and through a hole in the foot. I have seen & done some lovely designs with this method. Liz

I was under the impression that we were talking about free motion couching. It sounds like you are talking about a regular sewing foot. For that the Janome Beading Feet set would work like your HV foot. You'll also need a 7mm shank to attach the foot to:

I opened my Husqvarna yarn couching Foot set today. It had 2 sets of guides. The smaller set fits almost perfectly on the 12000 lid. Neither the feet or ankle fit on the 12000. However, I read somewhere that a Pearl & Piping foot might work--at least maybe for freemotion. FWIW. But neither the HV ankle nor foot fit the 12000.

The difference between the 11000 and 12000, as far as feet are concerned, is the zig zag width. On the 12000 it's 9mm. On all other top load computer models it's 7mm. However you can use all of the snap-on feet from the 11000 on the 12000 if you get a 7mm foot holder, part #830504017 or part #846572004. Just make sure not to use any stitch with a width greater than 7mm. You can also use high-shank screw-on feet, again making sure to keep the width to 7mm or less. If you are selling or trading your 11000, I would suggest keeping all the feet except those shown in the manual as being included with the machine.
