Someone from the site explained to me that there was no actual event.  Facebook insisted they put a time, but what it was was just files related to the topic being added to the site.

I have some after market applications for dog shows software that don’t “fit” properly on my HP Envy running Windows 10. I am able to get them to fit if I change the option in the Display settings/Display/Scale and layout from 125% to 100%. Surface Pro probably has similar options.

I have a student who owns a Janome 9900 machine and a Surface Pro. She was able to load the equivalent of Horizon Link which is AcuTools onto her Surface Pro. It does run but with some difficulties. For example one thing it does is that the screen will not show the program full size like it does on a regular windows computer and is therefore hard to use.

My explanation for why Janome has Windows programs and IPad apps is to attempt to meet the needs of all users.

I signed up for a Janome "event" on  FB. The FB group it was on was the "Janome 15000 FB Virtual Guild."  When the time for the event came, I could not find a way to access it.  I know this is not exactly pertinent to this forum, but if there are any members of this group reading this, can you please give me a clue.  I thought I savvy with computers and all....now I know better.
Thanks so much,
Pat Kowalczyk

Re: quilting on my 12000

My machine was used when I bought it from an individual and it came with several hoops and the "stuff" that comes with them: plastic overlay, magnets. I have two sizes of magnets. Small ones about an inch long and larger ones, about 3 inches. I do not know which were supposed to be with which hoop as it all came together. But I have tried using both sizes with varying results. I find my best success is to open the hoop frame very wide and hope I can get the magnets to stay on. Thanks for all the help everybody! I finished quilting the quilt today. Now just need to go back and "fix" some things, like where the machine made a rat's nest of thread on the back and where the pattern ran off the edge.

I bought a new PC last year, and it doesn’t have a CD/DVD drive installed.  I bought a very cheap external drive which just plugs into a USB Port. My HL and Janome V5 programs are on disc when I tried to copy to a USB drive they wouldn’t load, may have been something I was doing, but could have been a security issue about being copied and loaded.  My drive cost less than 20 GBP.  I was able to load them without a problem once it was installed

If you have a computer that does have a CD drive all you need to do is copy everything from the CD to a USB stick. Then you can plug the USB stick into your Surface and run the Setup program.

I totally agree with the bobbin issue. I wish I could remember how many times mine has been into the shop over this issue

My biggest problem with the 15000 is the sensitivity in the bobbin case. Doesn't take much to jam the thread.
Re software, I do not use the Horizon stuff.
Re apps, I took a class when I first got the machine and was so frustrated with the instruction and the quality of designs that I discontinued.
However, not being an Apple user, I'm learning to use the IPAD and really like the  My 15000 app.

Re: quilting on my 12000

When I did this, I could see that the GR hoop magnets wouldn't hold the quilt sandwich, even as thin as it was. That was when I tried the ASQ22 magnets and they did clip over it all and stayed. And yes, even those magnets didn't want to go over seams so I made sure to avoid them.

Re: 15000 tension help

Jim Stutsman

If you are using the yellow dot bobbin case, switch to the red dot (standard) case. You don't need the extra tension. If you are already using the red dot case, adjust the needle tension to be a little higher. When properly adjusted, you will see about 1/3 top thread on each side of a strip of 1/3 bobbin thread when viewing the back of the embroidery.

Horizon Link is capable of running on a Windows tablet, such as the Surface, but NOT on an iPad. However you cannot download Horizon Link. It comes with the machine on a CD.
