Good news & Bad News for me (smile).

My Surface Pro does not have a slot for a CD.

Oh well.

Thanks for the reply.

When I did this, I could see that the GR hoop magnets wouldn't hold the quilt sandwich, even as thin as it was. That was when I tried the ASQ22 magnets and they did clip over it all and stayed. And yes, even those magnets didn't want to go over seams so I made sure to avoid them.

Tried to respond to the survey, but everything was locked, so guess you have what you  need. In addition...
My biggest problem with the 15000 is the sensitivity in the bobbin case. Doesn't take much to jam the thread.
Re software, I do not use the Horizon stuff.
Re apps, I took a class when I first got the machine and was so frustrated with the instruction and the quality of designs that I discontinued.
However, not being an Apple user, I'm learning to use the IPAD and really like the  My 15000 app.

If you are using the yellow dot bobbin case, switch to the red dot (standard) case. You don't need the extra tension. If you are already using the red dot case, adjust the needle tension to be a little higher. When properly adjusted, you will see about 1/3 top thread on each side of a strip of 1/3 bobbin thread when viewing the back of the embroidery.

Horizon Link is capable of running on a Windows tablet, such as the Surface, but NOT on an iPad. However you cannot download Horizon Link. It comes with the machine on a CD.

The limit is 200,000 stitches.

Just a thought on your issue with importing from Dropbox into AcuDesign.... Are your design files in the expected folder structure?  I can only see files located under this folder path:   Apps -> Artistic -> design folders and files.  If there’s a place to change that expected path I haven’t found it.

Stitch count limit on Mc15000

Is there a stitch count limit on the MC15000 and if so, what is it?  I've looked at or downloaded designs that warn me that the design exceeds 64,000 stitches.

Thanks,

Horizon Link Software - Microsoft Surface Pro4

Does anyone know if I can download the Horizon Link software to my Microsoft Surface Pro4?  Or can you only download it to an Ipad.

If I can, where would I find the app?

Thanks so much!

June

Thanks, I do have the ASQ22 hoop, but it was too small for the design I chose. Maybe this machine was not really meant for quilting a crib or larger size quilt. I think it is where seams meet on the quilt top that the magnets have the most trouble staying on. I mentioned it could be somewhat entertaining when they pop off suddenly. I have actually had to hunt for a couple of them.

Thanks, these are the hoops I have.

I have done AS's edge to edge on small quilts in the GR hoop, but used the clip-on magnets that came with the Accu-quilt ASQ22 hoop. It's a thin hoop, so you have to use a really thin batting (or just a layer of flannel) with the outer hoop opened a LOT. This puts stress on the hoop, but it can be done with the clip-on magnets from the ASQ22 to hold everything together securely. The magnets aren't connecting with the magnets on the hoop. It's the bottom edges of the magnets that clip over and down to hold everything together. The Janome website video shows how they're used, and you can purchase the magnets without buying the AccuQuilt hoop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea_OMo2QYIM

I successfully use the accufil hoop.  It is designed enable quilting with large magnets. https://www.janome.com/accessories/hoops/acufil-quilting-kit/

Re: accidentally bumped the touch screen when quilting?

A solution might be that after you have chosen your stitch.leave it on the sxreen where you make adjustments this way if you accidently touch it it will only change your adjustments

The random nature of group email lists sometimes leads to large disparity in timing. This post started last year, and is no longer relevant. However the questions asked are still valid, so here’s my take on them:

  1. This issue has been common for a lot of people. If you haven’t tried it yet, try the technique in this video, about 3 minutes in.
  2. Not sure this is a question. Horizon Link Suite is pretty well covered in our My 15000 app.
  3. AcuDesign is without a doubt the most frustrating app that Janome has. The current version is 3.1, last updated a year ago. I tried it this morning on an iPad that I had not used it on before. Immediately after launching it offered to link to Dropbox. I did that and was able to import designs without any issues. However in trying to verify that I had the latest version (unsuccessful), I opened Settings and was surprised to see that Dropbox was showing as disabled. Yet it works. As Linus, from the comic strip “Peanuts” used to say, there is no heavier burden than a great potential. Try removing the app entirely, then downloading again. You will not have to pay again, and if you did purchase the lettering option you can restore the purchase without paying again. That might get it working again.

Thank you your help is much appreciated.

1.  Both my 15000 an 12000, the thread jumps out of the take up lever sometimes in embroidery mode

2.  I have Digitizer V5.5 and providing I make sure to purge the back up and recovery regularly I have few problems, I’ve never got to grips with HL as I have 5.5 but I would like to use it for the sewing side.

3.  My biggest problem with the iPad apps is Acudesign no longer links to dropbox and try as I might I cannot relink it.  It worked when I first got the Acudesign suite, but dropbox updated and the link was lost.  I have tried many times to get it linked but to no avail.
