The Hawaiian term "Wiki wiki" means quick. On the Internet it's a kind of database for information that can be updated quickly. The most popular wiki, which is also the largest on the World Wide Web, is Wikipedia. We will use this Wiki for information that should be "sticky", meaning you can find it without searching through hundreds of posts.
Re: Using a USB extension cord
I tried that. the old cable won't go into the new one. Maybe it's just a faulty cable.

Re: Using a USB extension cord
If all you want to do is plug a cable into your machine that you can then plug various thumb drives into without always plugging them into your machine, you need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Transfer-Enclosures-Printers-Cameras/dp/B00P0E3954/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1547468436&sr=1-4&keywords=usb+to+usb
They are too long but you can coil them up

I updated a digitizer jr to mbx 4.5 and had to call Terri at Janome us
I now have a call out for another lady who tried to install from 4.0 mbx to 4.5 update Hoping she calls her tomorrow!! I believe (access code) it has to do with the cross stitch program - I had the program already when I installed my 4.5 update So code came up!! I do have request though for anyone who has Mbx4.5 where is the cross stitch program located? I think it was under file but as I have 5 now not sure!!! Kaye in la

Re: Thread

Carole - The 90/14 needle will work great if you are quilting thru 2 layers of fabric and batting. No worries about the quilt itself. If the needle will slide back and forth on the thread- the thread is not to thick for the needle you have. If it doesn't slide easily without getting stuck when you run the thread thru the eye and then hold one hand higher than the other and then the other hand higher (back and forth) then you need a larger eye on your needle. Try a top-stitching 90/14 needle. I am not sure about the acufil question you ask - but if the thread is the right color and the needle isn't an issue- then go for it. Tracy in Nashville, TN

Re: Thread

40wt should be fine. The topstitch 14 recommendation is probably related to the thickness of the quilt. The larger eye would also be less likely to fray the cotton thread.

You didn't do anything wrong. Plug the NEW cable into your computer. Plug the OLD cable into the end of the new one. That will leave the correct end for plugging into the machine.

After you create the album you will have the option to add photos to it.

Re: MBX 4.5

You didn't say, so I'm assuming that it has been working up until now. Try installing this update: https://www.janome.co.jp/e/e_downloads/digitizer_mbx_v45h.html
If the update is already installed, then shut down Windows. Then turn it on and restart. If you are still having the problem it may be a dongle issue and you'll need to seek Janome Tech Support.

Try flossing out the tension. Fold a narrow strip of fabric in half. Lock the machine. Put the folded edge into the tension slot and floss it back and forth. Hopefully that will dislodge the debris that's in the tension causing inconsistent tension. If that fails you probably need to see your dealer.

I seem to be missing something. On the home page, if I click on photos, there's an opportunity to create a new album, but no "add photo". If I click on Messages, just messages come up, no "add photo". I will keep trying.

Tension
Mary Jo Hirsch
my LucyLu, is behaving badly. First let me say. I’ve changed needles, thread masterpiece and aurfil. The thread continues to break, rethreaded numerous times. Locked out to thread needle, auto thread didnot work and then suddenly worked. My real problem the tension is inconsistent, at times upper and then other times .lower.
Cleaned bobbin area and upper thread channel. I’m attempting straight sewing, ( red bobbin case) nothing fancy. Any suggestions appreciated.

MBX 4.5

Jim,
I am getting a dialog box asking for access codes when trying to load MBX 4.5, picture in the photos section. Is this a driver issue? Can you please tell me how to fix this? thanks Marsha Ryan

Thread
Carole O'Mara
Is a 40wt (Superior King Tut) thread too heavy to use to quilt a small quilt using Acufil (stipple design)? Label says: Use topstitch #90/14. Is that needle too large to use for an Acufil design? I've only used 50wt in the past, but this is a perfect color for the quilt.
Thanks so much, Carole - Colorado Springs

Re: Using a USB extension cord
I bought this cord: https://www.amazon.com/INSTEN-USB-2-0-Extension-Cable/dp/B006HDAAC2/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1547406580&sr=1-1&keywords=usb+extension+cable+25+ft&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_five_browse-bin%3A7800930011 and the cord from my Janome 12000 won't fit into the connector. What have I done wrong?
