Help with design transfer

Gail

This is a very stupid question,  I have always connected my machine to my computer using Wifi and have transferred all my designs that way.  I am going to take a class and have to transfer my designs to a USB flash drive and I can't seem to find out how to do it.

I have looked thru my manual, the help files with Horizon LInk and rewatched the My15000 videos, but can't seem to find the instructions on this.  Can someone just point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Gail in FL

Since you are already familiar with sending designs to the machine by WiFi, just plug your USB drive into the machine and send designs by WiFi to USB1 or USB2, depending on which socket the USB drive is plugged into. To send designs to a USB drive that is connected to your computer you can use the EmbLink Tool in Horizon Link Suite. Open the design you want in the EmbLink Tool. Click the "Write a Design" button in the toolbar. In the window that opens, click the dropdown at the top right and choose the USB drive that you want to send to. Then click red arrow to send it.

I tried it both ways and it cut the thread both times.

Hi Liz,

The book is called Measuring made Easy with the Two Easy Tape and Inseam Companion by Lorraine Henry

The address in the back of the book is: LH Enterprises
9590 Via Pereza
San Diego CA 92129

I purchased mine at a Creative Sewing Festival in Denver CO, years ago, after seeing a pant making demonstration.

Happy Labor Day and happy stitching,

Estelle

DO NOT TRIM, part 2

rosematt11@ymail.com

I forgot to put that I am using Digitizer 5 which is where I need the help...not with my 12000. I want the embroidery function to stop at the end of a segment so I can pull the thread to the front.

NOT TRIM THREADS AT END

rosematt11@ymail.com

I am unsure if I am using the right term. I am quilting on my 12000 and want to pull the thread up to the front at the end of a color like you can do at the beginning. I've tried using the scissors icon without results. Am I doing it wrong or just not using the right icon?

Thanks, Rose, Florida

Update

I have an Elna 920. My dealer says it is close to the Janome 15000. My threader hasn't worked for a long time either, and was wondering if Elna was going to offer the same package,

I haven't looked at it on the Janome site, but several posts on this group say it is the same as the 15000 except without the Wi-Fi.

You may want to check that out.. The 14,000 is not the same as the 15,000.  go to Janome.com and they have a comparison chart on there.

I've been thinking about purchasing the 14000.  I know it is the same as the 15000 without the Wi-Fi, which I'm not interested in anyway.  Does it have the automatic needle threader, and, if so, does it have the same issues as the one on the 15000?

From my dealer here in CA - the update is free, the new threader, shank etc. free. The accessory foot and plate package $149 and no charge to install anything AND they will do it while you wait. The horizon link suite update is free and they will have a Janome educator coming in to give a refresher app/PC program session. I LOVE MY DEALER.

As long as I can use the RE18 hoop and the accufil hoop, I don't see why updates would matter.

I've been following this thread for a while. My threader doesn't seem to work anymore, although I've worked around it. But I have found out that the dealer where I bought my machine 2+ years ago is no longer in business. How do I go about getting the part exchanged? My other local sewing repair person is certified to work on Janome, would they count as a source?

Here’s the bulletin for the Quilting upgrade package:

http://www.janome.co.jp/e/e_downloads/pdf/janomebulletin/JTM-1032_Quilt_Maker_Accessory_Upgrade_Kit.pdf

The compact foot would be easier to sew over seams and I like the visibility of the QZ foot, but I wonder about traction since there is no contact with some of the feed dogs.

I put a different shank and 7mm foot on to try and sew and found my fabric slipped around a lot more.

Thanks Jim.
The dealer I've been talking with is not pushing the Quilt Maker but did explain how similar the 2 models are once the previously released 15000 was updated, needle threader part replaced, plate and feet added. She only found one difference.
Not a big difference on pricing between the 2 models.

Thanks again,
Julia
