Re: AccuDesign, AccuSetter, etc.

Oh, I see. If you select the 220mm x 220 mm size Janome 15000 shows up. For $49.99 plus shipping I think I’ll make my own frame. I already have the magnets and the hoop. They are inexpensive on ebay. I checked and they stick to the metal in the hoop well. I think it will be quite easy to glue them to a thin wooden or acrylic frame. Cas

Check it out here and go to the bottom of the page and choose 220mm by 220mm hoop. It will show it's for the 12,000, 14,000, and 15,000 with the acufil hoop. |

I haven't seen this question before so here goes... When I let off of the foot pedal my 15000 sometimes continues to sew, sometime for a couple stitches and sometimes continues until I tap it. Any helpful ideas? Usually this is due to one of two things: 1. Dust or debris (dog & cat hair especially) has accumulated inside the foot control. Cleaning that out will fix the problem, but it's tricky to open with springs, etc. Also the screws are usually hidden under the rubber skid prevention pads on the bottom. 2. A capacitor inside the foot control has failed. It's not difficult to replace, but dealers will almost always want to replace the foot control. If it's out of warranty this can be pricey. 3. OK, I lied, there is one more possibility. Sometimes the plug in the machine that the foot control plugs into will break loose from the electronics board that it connects to. This can make the foot control unresponsive sometimes, as well as pop up messages with pictures of the foot control. Generally will not cause the machine to keep running, but I thought I should mention it. |

Viewing the graphic when opening designs

I’m having trouble viewing the designs in a graphic. I remember there was a way to view them and not the “D” or the flower but for the life of me, I can’t find the answer anywhere. I have the appropriate extension selected but still cannot see it. I’m running on Windows 10, Digitizer V. Can someone please help. Thank you, Sharon This is what I’m getting: |

I think you mean the DIME (Designs in Machine Embroidery) hoop topper? The answer is no. It is only for the ASQ22 hoop, not the SQ23 hoop. The ASQ22 (Acufil Square) is a one part hoop with a metal rim and 8 magnetic clamps that hold the fabric onto the hoop. The new DIME Hoop Tooper doesn't use those 8 magnetic clamps. It consists of a plastic frame and 12 magnets that hold the fabric onto the ASQ22 hoop. |

Updated MC12000 to use RE18 Hoop
lisawelch52@...
Need some assistance, please. I purchased the new RE18 Hoop and to use it I have: 1. updated my MC12000 2. updated my Digitizer MBX software to V4.0M 3. downloaded the Horizon Link V1.20 but need the install disk to complete it and I'm away from home to have internet access. I will finish installation when I get home. All that to explain what I've done so far to be able to use the RE18 Hoop. Of course the update on my MC12000 recognizes the RE18 Hoop, but the update on the MBX software does not and I really need it to. From reading about all the updates, I think I've chosen the correct ones but apparently I'm missing something. I would sure appreciate any advice. Thanks, Lisa Item 2 says you are using MBX V4.0M, but the latest update to 4.0 is MBX 4.0V. You can get that update here: http://www.janome.co.jp/e/e_downloads/digitizer_mbx_v40v.html |

Reducing design density
susies.stitches@...
I need to reduce the density of a design to stitch it on a t-shirt, but don't know how. My software can do it, but it doesn't give any guidelines. I don't want to spend hours figuring it out. The help menu mentioned adjusting pull compensation, and although I know what it is, again I have no guidelines. Is there anyone on this group who would be willing to do it for a fee? I'd rather pay for that than continually buy designs with the same problem. The one I have is a little smaller than 4x4, with 11000 stitches. Most of the ones I've seen have at least that many stitches. I used a fusible mesh. Should I use something heavier, or two layers? In the meantime, I'll try the reduced density design and a heavier stabilizer. I have Wilcom, which is very capable, but very complex. Maybe they have a video tutorial on density. I hardly ever use it, because it's way too advanced for me. I need some guidance and advice, or better yet, a fairy godmother (father) for hire! Sue Raabe Embrilliance Software makes a Density Repair Kit for this very problem. You can download a demo version here to try it out, though the demo does not save the repaired design. At least it will give you an idea how it works. For more information see this page. |

I have the DIME Hoop Topper which fits on the ASQ22 hoop. It consists of a plastic frame and 12 very strong magnets that take the place of the magnets that come with the ASQ hoop. I used the hoop to make an embroidered project the other day and it works very well. Also DIME has made a Monster Hoop for the Janome 500E machine. |

I've been told by my local Brother Dealer that DIME does make a 5 X 7 magnetice hook for the MC15000.. Been waiting 5 months to get it, so I'm beginning to doubt her just a bit! I have the Janice Quilt Topper. It is made of flimsy plastic. The magnets are quite strong. It is okay, but I am not really impressed. I had hoped they would have made a snap hoop for the MC15000, but they said they have no plans for it.

Don't forget the Accessory catalog, available to download (free) from Janome's websites (I found it easily on Global. http://www.janome.co.jp/e1.htmI Just click on the word Accessories (left side of the page). I've saved mine to iBooks on my iPad. Janome America (janome.com) can get to a multi-page list of accessories that will fit the 15000, although I found the catalog from Global to be far superior when looking to see if there was anything else I might need. Tee hee. If you've downloaded the Sewing Machine Accessories PDF previously, the current version seems to be updated with more 15000-specific items. I had purchased the pintuck foot and it's pintuck cord guide. Unfortunately the guide didn't fit the 15000. I've now printed just that page from the newer catalog and will take it to my dealer next time I go in so I can get the cord guide that will fit the 15000. 😊 Enjoy! Pat Sent from my iPad |

DIME Snap Hoops

Correction. I just looked at their website and they now have something called the Janome Quilt Topper that is supposed to work with the Accufil hoop. Not sure how it works, but maybe it is the same principle. |

No. I contacted them and asked if they were planning to make one that fits Janome machines and they said no. I think it is because of where the hoop attaches on the Janome. All the others attach to the left. From: "gail_menard@... [janome12000]" To: janome12000@...
