You can print one section at a time but that's a pain.

Kim,  You might download the trial / free version of Embrilliance.  I saw a demo this week of taking a font from anywhere including your PC,dragging it into Embrilliance, saving as ...

I have not tried it yet, but it might help.

I do FSL every day and use Madeira 60 wt Embroidery thread in the bobbin--you can match the colors with the 40 weight Madeira perfectly. I order directly from Madeira and have their Thread Chart/ with actual thread swatch.  Lj

I too wonder why when I go into the settings,my 15000 doesn't convert to inches in describing stitch length although I have selected it? Is there some additional step I need to take? I'd rather think in inches than millimeters

[Sadly, no.]

That's likely because Janome did not build in the capability for inches in HorizonLink or HorizonLink Suite. This is probably punishment for the US saying we were switching to metric, then not doing it on account of gas pumps. If you remember this you are at least as old as I am. Sorry for resurrecting those painful memories of converting inches to millimeters and wondering why a "cubic" centimeter applies to a liquid.

I have lots of machines - not only because you can set one up for each function and move around between them, but also because some machines are simply just better at doing a certan thing than others.  I may be biased but I still say a straight stitch only machine ( especally my old Singer 28k, 99k and my Vestas) do a much nicer looking stitch that the swing needle machines (possibly because there is no sideways motion required of the needle bar at all for fancy stitches) - though I must say that the 15000 has impressed me with it's straight stitch.

I buy mine at AllStitch Discount Embroidery Supplies

I get their brand and they are about $25.00 a gross.  I use them in all my machines and have both sizes and use them for everything.  The only time I wind a bobbin is when I am doing free standing lace and need the same color on the bottom that is on the top.  I also get my Madeira Thread there also.

Does anyone know if it's possible to download and print a complete set of instructions for Horizon Link. I'm kinda old fashion and like paper instructions. Linda in Texas Sent from my iPhone

[You can print the Help files from HorizonLink itself.]
1. Open HorizonLink.
2. Click the blue question mark in the top right corner.
3. From the help window click on a topic under Contents.
4. Click the Print button at the top of the Help window.

If I haven't purchased the app yet for the 12000, should I wait for the new one? Sent from my iPhone

[Nope. The app in development is not machine-specific.]

Sue Raabe <susies.stitches@...>

I have the 3160, and a friend of mine purchased what she said was a newer model.  Maybe she was wrong. I can't remember the model number, but it started with a 4. Since I only use it to take somewhere, I resisted the impulse to get it. I would have had to pay more than I wanted to trade up for something newer. I would be so tempted by all the new machines if I ever worked in a store.

I should probably set it up for straight sewing so I don't have to change everything on the 15000.  It never occurred to me before, but now I understand why people have separate machines for each function. Sue
