Jim,  Thank you so much for your info. I respect your time and effort to answer all our questions and the time to put into these projects.  I wonder if Janome knows how special you are?.  I look forward to this new venture as Janome manuals do not cut it when you need to learn their product.  Thanks again Your admirer in NJ

Jim, Are there a trial version for the 12000 yet? Or am I pushing it? Anxious to see videos. Also I have the Elna 920 Expressive & will this work with it? And I have the Ver.1.00 & wanted to know if I could update mine to the version1.20 for the Memory Craft 12000?? Lots of questions for the Guro of techies

Feeling like a leaf in a hurricane, Jim says:
I'm working on the 12000 version now. There is a LOT of work involved, as each of the 58 videos has to be re-encoded for the web. I also need to develop the pages for the website. As for how well it will apply to the Elna 920, that machine is more like the Janome 14000. We've never seen this machine, so I can't make any guarantees, but I would think that the 15000 videos would apply more than the 12000. Of course you can update your 12000 to V1.2. See this page for the instructions and software.

Keep the 11000 (I wish I did) because it has a smaller hoop for 4x4 designs. I have a 15000 and love it but miss the smaller hoop. The 12000 has improvements over the 15000. I would sell the 12000.

Jim,
What a gift! Thank you. This version seems to work perfectly on my WIN 10 system. I have the My 15000 & the Foot Book for the iPad. I enjoy using those apps on that device, but seem to have my PC laptop open more often and would use this version more.

I appreciate all you and Diane do for this group. Thanks again.

Ok, well more like a new old product announcement!   Long time readers are no doubt familiar with (and perhaps sick of hearing about) our iPhone/iPad app My 15000. We have had many requests for a version that could be used on a PC or Android device, neither of which was something we were interested in doing. That said, we have reviewed the structure of the app and realized we could implement it as a web app to be viewed in a browser. Previously we sold DVDs for the 12000 that were viewed using a web browser, but after numerous compatibility issues we had to abandon that. I was very skeptical that a web version would work, but pressed on and discovered that it actually can work. So we made a web version.

Of course there are so many different devices, operating systems, and browsers that we could not possibly test them all. So we made the first 10 "quick start" videos completely free so you could find out whether you can use them on your particular device. All videos use the same player, so if it works you can be assured that you'll be able to purchase a membership for all of them. If the free videos don't work, please DO NOT purchase a membership, because the paid videos won't work either! We've tested on Windows 7, 8, and 10 with Internet Explorer 10 and higher, FireFox, and Chrome, all good. Windows XP won't work. Android on an Asus tablet and a Kindle Fire also work. All modern web browsers (say from the last 3 years) should work fine. The videos are HD, so if you are using a cellular connection you're going to burn through a lot of bandwidth, which could result in overage charges. We can't do anything about that, because right now only Apple supports the type of streaming that adjusts automatically to the bandwidth. That's what we use in the iTunes apps.

Permanent access to the web app costs $59.99 USD, the same price as the apps. All of the same features are included, and we can (and will) update the videos as needed. If you have a 15000, but do not have our app, we invite you to check out My 15000 Online. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Jim

Appreciate the 'no web access' bit of the Apple  4 (hadn't thought of it working that way) - maybe that will come one day.  Just wondering if the Roku would give me it, but probably not.

I can anyway just connect the Laptop to the 47in and have huge video! :0)  Lucky I never told my husband why I had bought Apple TV4 as opposed to another streaming device, as now I don't need it to view My 15000! :0)  Not that it would be any issue - he's a real technophobe and no idea how things work!

Will be purchasing in the next day or so.

‎OMGoodness!!!  How very sweet of you!   I have an iPad, an Asus Nexus 7, and a PC, of course, and Firefox is the browser I use on PC and Android.  I can tell you that the video I tried on my BlackBerry Z10 smartphone played just fine with the native BlackBerry browser, too.  It is on WiFi at this time and playback was very smooth, even on a 4 and a half or so inch screen and auto rotation was flawless while it was playing.

Very nice! Thank you!

Just thinking - if you are able to give iPad users free access to the online version, does that mean it would also give free access to the iPad App for those that have bought online?

If so then I for one would be able to use it both online and on my Apple TV4 (though haven't bought the app yet for that, so will be buying the online version as I can take that away with me and review away from home if I want).

Attempting to clarify, Jim says:
The iPad app includes the Apple TV4 app (and vice-versa), but there is NO relationship between the online app and the Apple apps. Purchasing the online app will allow you to view the videos on an iPad or iPhone using the embedded Safari browser, but not on the Apple TV because it does not have web access. As mentioned in a prior response to another post, it is possible to use AirPlay on the iPhone/iPad to display on a PC with the AirServer software. You can also use AirPlay to view on the Apple TV (V2-4) without the Apple TV4 app.

There are definite advantages to using the app on an iPhone or iPad:
* If using a cellular data connection, video quality will adjust to the available bandwidth for the best viewing experience. We cannot do this in the online version, as no browser supports it.

* Design files downloaded in the app can be opened directly in AcuEdit or AcuDesign for instant availability. This is not possible in the online version.

* Access through the app is much faster, because there is no delay for the browser to load and pages to render.

Will the 12000 version be forthcoming? I'll definitely be onboard for that even though I have the IPad app, and your CD's. I have a new all-in-one with HD and the videos are more amazing than on my IPad mini.

Also, will a subscription be able to be used on a PC and an Android device for the same subscription?

Here's hoping for the quick release of  My 12000 :)

Attempting to be forthcoming, Jim says:

Now that we have gone through the development, yes the 12000 can (and probably will) be made available online. A single online subscription can be viewed on anything with a web browser, so PC and Android is definitely an option. However there is absolutely no way to extend the iPad app or CDs to include access to the online version. The online version is managed by a completely different company.

If you already have the iPad app you can get a Windows program that will allow the iPad videos to be displayed on your PC screen. Check out AirServer for more details. There is a free trial for 7 days and after that the $15 charge would be much less than buying online access. Another benefit of this - you don't have to wait for us to make the online version!

Jim and Diane

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!   It all works for me on Windows 10 and Firefox - so I'm a really happy bunny!  The borrowed iPad will be going back to my step-son (haven't even looked at it yet and he lent it me at New Year!)

I'm a definite customer and will be purchasing soon - I'm sure there will be lots of others interested!  Yet to try it on my husbands Lenovo tablet.

One thing though - it wasn't obvious to me that you had to click on one of the videos that wasn't in the quick start section in order to get to the purchase screen.  I was expecting to find a button
to pay - but at least I've now found out how to do it! :0)

 Being no-so-obvious, Jim says:
I'm working on the possibility of adding a purchase button to the menu bar. Unfortunately web software is much less flexible than apps, so it may take a bit.

If we have the Apple App and would like the PC App also do we have to purchase it separately?

At the moment I don't have a way to grant free access to the online app for iPad app users. I'll think about it and see if I can come up with something.

Beth, I too use the iPad to view my apps... but the fact that Jim developed this for the non iPad users shows how much they listen to the needs of all the Janome owners and care about them.

You and I both know for sure how much this will mean to the Android and PC owners to have this available.  I have had my 15000 for two years and from time to time will still refer back to a section that I do not use often.

My dealer sells both ELNA & Janome & when I was interested in quilting machine, he sold me an Elna but when my interest changed to embroidery machine, he said it was only going to be the 15000! I've learned he never gives me bad info.
I've never heard of a 14000! My 15000 is superb though.

Re: Software

When I did Acufil before I printed out a "template" on a product called Template Magic which is a sticky product that when removed from backing paper can be reused MULTIPLE times.  It was great for the quilting.  I print templates from HL on plain paper to assist in embroidery previewing where I want to place the embroidery.

Re: Is there a 17000 on the horizon?

blue_lak <no_reply@...>

Yes, they do, up to a point. The problem arises when you've had a quilt folded for a while. Those channels can stand out when they're oriented with the direction of the quilt on a bed or hanging, especially if someone is the least bit off in hooping the next area to match the template, if the quilt is hooped too loosely, etc. And it's more pronounced with thicker battings.
