I'm a new 12000 owner, and only using it for basic things right now. But I so much appreciate this group and everything I'm learning. As I start to broaden my "Horizons" in using the machine I feel like I am more prepared by reading everyone else's adventures. And I so enjoy reading Jim's comments and replays. Thank you Jim & Diane! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone! TerryPlease note the new location of the files due to Dropbox suspending my public account. Re: A gift for the group
Thank you for the beautiful coaster patterns – love making coaster as they
are such great gifts for so many folks. And, a great BIG THANK YOU for all
your great help and explanation of questions asked by those of us in this
group. I keep so many of them for future reference as it seems I can’t
quite “recall” information like I used to – am suspicious it is an “age”
problem, but do hate to admit it – LOL.
Wishing you, Jim and Diane and all members of this group a very Merry
Christmas and a Wonderful New Year. The best is yet to
come! Please note the new location of the files due to Dropbox suspending my public account. For access with a computer: For access from iPad:

Embroidery arm
cnystul in Mn.
Jim yesterday as I was finishing up with some embroidery I went to shut down the 11000 and as the embroidery arm was to close it made a terrible noise like grinding and didn't close. So I shut down the machine and retried again to close down the embroidery arm but nothing happened. Now the lever on the side to close just doesn't do anything. The lever just feels like loose no pressure on it to close. What do you suppose is going on? I can still use the arm but just can't close the arm. Thank you...Cathy Oh and thank you Jim and Diane for the coasters...my after Christmas project. Making a terrible noise, Jim says: Something is preventing the carriage from returning to home position. It could be a pin that fell into the carriage, accumulated lint or something else. You won't be able to close the arm until it is in "Home" position, so you may need to make a very careful trip to your dealer, as it likely will require opening the carriage to diagnose and fix.

minky sewing?
Joyce Daniel
I am doing 2 minky pillows with a child’s name embroidered on the corner.
How do I sew 2 layers of minky together so it doesn’t make a stretched out pillow when I’m done?
Help?
Joyce
Diane has made TONS of Minkie projects and recommends: Use the AcuFeed foot with a zig zag stitch set at 2.5 and a stitch length of 2.5. You may need to adjust these, as not all Minkie-type fabrics are of the same quality.

Re: A gift for the group
Patricia Ward
Thank you very much for the great ITH quilted coasters. How lovely. Diane and Jim, the two of you are our gift all year long for the way you help us Janome users get the very most from our machines. Without you two, sewing would not be as innovative or fun. Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with love and happiness, Pat

Gift to Group - JEF Format
Richard and Debra
Jim, let me just say that, even though I don’t have a 15000 or
12000, I’ve been a member of Club J and this group for quite a while, and really
appreciate all the help and information you’ve shared over the years.
Having said that, I do have the 500e (love it), and was
wondering if the coasters could be converted to JEF (I noticed those sent were
JPX). I can resize them slightly to fit the square hoop on the 500e.
Again, thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New
Year!
Deb (KY) Noting the lack of a gift receipt in the zip file, Jim says: As quilters know, precision seams are mandatory to achieve a good looking quilt. Diane did many hours of testing and adjusting to get these "right". Even the placement of the designs in the hoop was done to minimize pulling of the batting. If you have Digitizer MBX you might be able to resize the design, but there are no guarantees. At least you won't waste much fabric trying it!
