Just wondering if you've got the PDF of the manual - available here http://janome.com/en/support/manuals/  It's then really easy to search the PDF to find what you want and you could use that at the same time as the 15000 app.

I can't access the app as I don't have an iPad so I use the search facility on the manual whenever I need to remind myself about something, and sometimes then find the point in the actual manually to refer to while sewing.  I find the manual really good - much better and comprehensive than any manual for any other machines I have.  It is now starting to get dog-eared!

I've also checked out the short videos on the Janome website about using each of the feet, though they are really short and the voice is sort of sickly sweet - can't stand it! :0)  I have been using most of the types of feet for many years though so I guess I'm aware of what to do mostly - though there is always something new to learn and feet are very often used for a purpose they weren't made for!

I don't know if I'm the only one, but so far I don't like any of the blocks that have arrived in my inbox.  I haven't even tried downloading one pattern because nothing has appealed.

Maybe it's just because I like the traditional patterns that are regular and the same on either side.  I'm definitely not a contemporary quilter!

I am hoping she is referring to the acudesign ap....that woul be a real great thing to have.

Wondering how many thousands of words a video is worth, Jim says:
The app features 9 videos specifically for AcuDesign, all of which are indexed with closed captions available. The search page allows direct access to virtually every function of the program. Producing a manual would essentially duplicate that and would require far more time and resources than we are able to dedicate.

You never know what you will get in these multiple blocks! Look for applique in the future. The beauty about all these blocks is that some will appeal to someone, yet others will gravitate to other blocks!

Speaking of which ... if you do today’s paper pieced pattern be aware it consists of eight sections!  I didn’t realize it till I went to put my four sections together.  I’ve never made a paper pieced block consisting of 8 sections before.  I mean there are many sections within a quarter but usually the four square quarters are sewn together to create a block.  So I have a lovely half a block and wasted a couple of hours making it.  Of course I don’t have enough of the same scraps to create the other half...

I should have read the pattern instead of assuming it would be like all the others I’ve done.

Written Instructions for the 15000 app

Jim, this is a long shot, but thought I would ask.  I've been going through the videos on the 15000 app and making notes.  It is too much for me to remember at one time.  It got a little overwhelming starting and stopping the video to make notes.  Will there ever be a written manual for sale that explains the steps done in the videos?  I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Cyberangel Sandra

Avoiding long shots and slot machines, Jim says:

The 15000 comes with a written manual and we created video to go with it. Given that you are the only one to request a manual to accompany the video that accompanies the manual, it' snot going to happen. By any chance have you looked at the Search tab in the app? It is essentially an index to all the videos, allowing you to go directly to a topic of interest. If you want written words try turning on the closed captions. Every word spoken is there. Hope this helps!

Could someone tell me where to find the quilt designs?
I am fairly new to Janome.
  Thank you,   JoAnn
Life's biggest decision is what you do with Jesus.

I have signed up to down load the quilt designs from Janome.  I would be interested to know if others taking advantage of this free offer from Janome find that the downloads take forever!!!!  I have very high speed internet from Charter so downloads normally are very short.  These quilt directions take so long that I can go off and do another project and come back some time later to find it is still downloading.  The picture and directions are only 3 pages.  Interested in your comments.  thanks  Mary

Has anyone bought the fabric bundles?  I’m curious of the price.  I would have to buy two, one for my practice blocks, lol!

Hi Mary,

I have been downloading the quilt designs from Janome and it has been very quick. I have internet through Comcast Cable so the speed seems to vary a lot throughout the day.

My dealer doesn’t seem to have the fabric so I will probably just use stuff from my stash. I may not get to it until after the holidays.

I have no problem.  They come into my email as a PDF and I open in iBooks.  You could also open in Adobe. Thanks, Cindi

Yes, they take forever here too, and I have high speed internet.  Sometimes if you hit “X” to stop loading the page it actually loads faster.  I’ve also noticed they must have asked the designers for their hardest, or trickiest block patterns.  Maybe want to sell more fabric bundles?  lol.  I’m not using their colors though.

I have been downloading them and it is pretty fast but I open them in Adobe first because I want to see how to do them.  Even that doesn't take long.  However, there have been a couple of  days when I couldn't even get the website to open.......Might be on their end and considering how many of us there are...........

‎I have been downloading the designs with no problems at all.   I don't have the fabric and my dealer has not procured the fabric for anyone,  and I probably  won't be able to do the blocks in the 50 day time frame...even if I had the expertise, but it sure sounds fun. Are you going to participate?   There is a drawing for a sewing machine, too.

Re: Can thread warning be turned off?

Anne Parker

Hi Judy

You can check this out in your manual, or search the pdf one here - http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/embroidery-models/inst-book-mc12000en.pdf

If you search it for Thread Sensor it will take you to page 89 - the upper thread sensor can be turned off on screen 5 of the common settings.

Search it also for Bobbin Thread Warning and it will take you to page 90 - it can be changed in the Ordinary sewing settings screen 1 and search again and it will take you to page 128 - it can be changed in the Embroidery Sewing settings screen 1

 Hope that helps.

Yes, in Settings, Thread Sensor, it can be turned off or on.

MBX 4.0T Digitizer not working

Carol Albrecht

I have been having problems with the version of Digitizer 4.0 opening on my laptop since June.  At that time I was running windows 8 and now have a new laptop that is running windows 10.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled all possible versions up to 4.0T and I still get the same error message.  I also reinstalled the driver and made sure it was on.  A copy of the error message is attached to this email.  My dealer has tried to help also to no avail. All I get is the above error message

Can anybody please help???

Filling in for "anybody" who is off today, Jim says:

For the benefit of others who may at some time be greeted by the slightly-less-than-friendly system error message, please be advised that attaching screen shots are of no value at all. Those cryptic Windows error messages filled with hexadecimal numbers mean absolutely nothing to anyone except perhaps the author of the program, and even then it's dubious.

Uninstalling and reinstalling "all possible versions up to 4.0T" was a bad idea. MBX 4.0 does not uninstall completely and it will not install correctly following an uninstall unless you file the steps in this document which is in the Files section of this list. Installing earlier versions will serve no purpose other than to leave bits and bobs behind to create trouble. Here's what you should do:

1. Remove MBX 4.0 using the instructions linked above.

2. Install MBX from the 4.0 original or upgrade DVD. DO NOT install anything earlier than that and DO NOT try to open it.

3. Install the 4.0V update. This is new.

4. Install the Windows 10 Compatibility update.

If MBX will not open take your laptop to your dealer. Attempt to open it using the dealer's dongle. If it works then your dongle may be damaged and need replacement. If it fails then have your dealer contact Janome Tech Support on your behalf. You will need a much higher level of support than can be provided on this list.
