5th Birthday Party!

L.C. Northcutt

Just thought I would share a couple of photographs from yesterday.

My SE Kent Janome Club celebrated our 5th Birthday yesterday!

Photos can be found in the file named Cathy's Book.

The sewing machine cake was just amazing, all edible and enjoyed by all! Made by Gemma Burchell, Ashford.

With best wishes,

Cathy.

Filling the bobbin

sue tapp

Jim,

Is there a way for a technician to tweek the 15000 so I can bypass the message that the bobbin needs to be replaced?

Thanks,

Sue

Channeling Bill and Ted, Jim says "Way, Sue!":

There are a couple of options. A technician can recalibrate the sensor to make it more accurate. This is a simple procedure that can be done in just a few minutes. You can also just turn the sensor off completely in the SET screen. See page 97 in the manual.

Problem... needing help!!

lynne.keller51@...

I have an 11000 and a 15000.  I am having a terrible time with both machines.  I have had the 11000 for several years and just got the 15000 in June.  I have a terrible problem with my thread shredding.  I have changed needles, thread, cleaned the bobbin area.  It happens when using the embroidery unit and regular stitching.  I don't know what to do and I need to know if anyone has any advice.

Another issue I am having is with my one embroidery hoop for the 11000.  It has gotten a lot of use and now it will not tighten.  I have seen replacement screws for the hoop but wondered if that would fix the issue or if I need a new hoop.

Thanks for any help,

Lynne keller

Shredding his junk mail, Jim says:

Thread shredding is usual the result of the thread being exposed to rough edges. Remove the bobbin case from each machine and check for damage on top and bottom. Also check the edges of the hook race that the bobbin case rides on. Passing a nylon stocking around it will quickly find any roughness. Nicks and scratches will cause shredding and breakage. Also check the edges of the hole in the needle plate. Damage from needle strikes will often cause this problem.

The screw and nut combination used in the hoops is often a problem. The screws are very small, with fine threads that are easily stripped. We used to sell replacement sets in the store. You just emote the old screw and nut, drop the new nut in the pocket on the hoop and replace the screw.

Mags

Thanks for posting the PDF - I think the interface is growing on me and it doesn't seem so bad as when you first showed it.  I am not sure if I will be able to make Trevors webinar so I do hope he will put it on You-tube or have it available from his website for those that miss it.  The stumpwork looks interesting, and I note that cutwork and stumpwork is included - we would just have to buy the 'needles'.

AccuSetter App

Cindy

Is there anyway to use the Accusetter App with a 12000?

Thanks,

Cindy

Given that the AcuSetter app depends on WiFi, which the 12000 doesn't have, no.

I have the same problem. When I click on Reply to Group or Reply to Sender, it takes me to a blank web page. The only way to reply is to Reply via Web Post.

Replying via Web Post, Jim says:
Again this is an issue with your email software and/or web browser. Yahoo support will probably be able to help, but you'll need to tell them what you are using.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this upgrade will cost. I'm still a Janome newbie, and version 4 is my first program. Since my dealer included it with my purchase, I have no clue what the price range is/was. Thanks.

How do I invite my friend to join this group? She has been a Janome goddess for ages and would have immense information and experience to share.

Not realizing that Janome was on Mount Olympus, Jim says:
This is a public group. No invitation is needed. Just send her this link. There are email links near the bottom of the page for subscribing/unsubscribing, and you can also join using the Yahoo buttons.

I have asked this question re[eatedly. I can not reply to  a message. I have to use the "NEW TOPIC" option.....How do I change this?  It has been a problem since I got this new laptop computer that has Windows 10. GA FROM OH

Unable to provide a decent answer, Jim offers this:

Since we have no information on what you are doing to reply, what browser you are using or what email program you use I through some words at Google and found this list of others with similar problems. Have you approached Yahoo support about the problem? Windows 10 uses a new browser called Edge as a replacement for Internet Explorer. Are you using that or IE? Have you tried an alternate browser like Google Chrome? You are the only person to report this problem and we're not really the best source of solution for Windows/Yahoo issues.

Thanks Anne for the info on the USB 2GB sticks and the 350E. I was just repeating what my friend told me. I’ve embroidered on that machine at my former dealers. I haven’t had issues loading designs since about 2004 when I discovered the filing system. I think a digital camera I bought in that time frame as well, helped me to understand as the one I used buried the pictures even one file deeper than my sewing machine did. Also George Conquergood, Trevor’s Dad, made the comment that the 350E liked the smaller USB sticks better. Anyway it doesn’t matter as they are not easy to obtain in a comfortable way, so it is good that the larger ones will work.

Anne, I’m also very glad that you do the research you do, as it helps all of us on this forum to understand things better - Thank you.

When I am using either of the accufeed flex feet, and I need to get bulky things under the foot, I first lock out.  I then touch the lift press foot button.  Locking out lowers the feed dogs and bulky items are not being grabbed by the feed teeth.  Touching the lift foot button raises the foot to its highest point, giving you more clearance under the foot.

Denise, I only have the prices for Great Britain, I haven't a clue what it would cost elsewhere.

Janome Digitiser V5

maggie cooper

There's been a deal of speculation regarding the new Janome Digitiser V5, so with Wilcom's blessing, as it was introduced at the last Institute and to dealers in Europe, I've uploaded the program introduction.

There have been some minor changes but the PDF still gives an idea of the program. I could list all of the great new additions and enhancements to the program, but as Trevor is doing a webinar covering V5 that saves my typing finger the tiring process.

Maggie Cooper in UK.

Thanks so much PG - Yours always, JB

Re: MBX5

Thanks for the link.

I have now signed up for it - though it seems I may not be able to make it as my step-son has got us tickets to a 'bonfire night' celebration being held on 29th.  It's to 'celebrate' the attempted blowing up of the British Parliment on Nov 5th 1605 by Guy Fawkes and is a well celebrated day in UK, though the 'bonfires and fireworks' tend to be held on dates around the day depending on when the organised celebrations can be booked. - you can read about it here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes_Night

It sounds though as if Trevor will be making it available on You-tube as well - hope so.

Cheryl

I have the 15000 but I use a loan 350E from my instructor when I go to my embroidery group.  I use the same 2GB USB on both machines.

When I first used it on the 350E it created a folder EmbF5.  I now put the 350E designs in that folder and the 15000 ones outside of it.  It works fine for me.

OOps, I meant it could NOT be a longer screw because it would bang our fingers as we guide the cloth through.

I have a really hard time putting the foot on too.  Kills my neck trying to see, and my neck has enough issues!  If that screw had a longer portion where the threads are it would help because it wouldn’t have to come all the way out.  I realize it could be a longer screw because it would bang on our fingers while guiding the thread.

I have a pose-able light that helps and I leave the door open for a better view.  I was excited to read in the manual that that pull out light is adjustable, then I got home and found it adjusts to slant up.  What in the world would be the reason for that?

Sorry to hear you broke your Acu-foot.
