I did wonder about that so I did a search on "DPD Southall" and I also tried the tracking number on Customs site then I gave them a call. They asked me to call their Coventry site who said that they only track items that are for delivery by Parcel Force. Pity DPD didn't say Customs at Southall. They also charged me £10.00 to deliver yesterday morning. The biggest problem is that there is no way to speak to a person at DPD. Also shipito.com have just the same interfaces to DPD. 73 ... Sid.

I have used DPD extensively, this is the first time I have had an issue. As Robert says there is a Customs facility at Southall and also a DPD facility there. Quite likely it's still in Customs with DPD confusing the issue by simply saying it's at Southall. 73 ... Sid.

Hello, Sid
I see with my tracking system that As requested, your parcel will now be delivered on Mon 13 August 2018 I think there are two ways - 1) The parcel was delivered with wrong address 2) This is mistake and your parcel will be delivered soon. Any way you should connect to this company as soon as this possible. David

Hi David,

I made the request and that's what is recorded. It's possibly still in Customs. There was one occasion when an item from Canada was stuck in Customs for 3 months. When finally it appeared for collection the date received by Customs was stamped on it. On another occasion an ODROID-X from Korea was mistaken for medical instruments worth £2000.00 and tax and delivery were based on that figure. I was able to reclaim the tax but not the excess delivery charge. 73 ... Sid.

Hi, Sid
When I leaved in Germany I spent a lot of time for a conversation with a Custom Service, I know what is this. I often argued with them not to pay money In this case the Ody board can be like reexport so you don't need to pay again but for proof this need to spend a time. Now in USA I don't face this problem, thanks gods. David

In the 21st. century it's almost impossible to speak to a person and if you do, there is no guarantee your query will be dealt with satisfactorily.

I went to DPD's huge depot today and got to speak to a person via an internal phone and was told it hasn't yet been received from Customs.

Hi Steve,

It's UK Customs and coincidentally I just read an email sent from shipito.com this afternoon saying it is Customs awaiting clearance. Looks like they did some detective work of their own to find that out. 73 ... Sid.

On the shipito.com review I gave them a full report on the DPD problem. DPD is and always has been no problem in the years I have had deliveries from them. Only problem is their website and getting in contact with them by phone or via their online email application. The email details all get filled in then goes nowhere when SUBMIT is clicked. 73 ... Sid.
