Hello David,

I plan to built a Micron too. But which AD Converter do you recomend? Whichist the "best" one? One from TI or AD? Or what is the reason you made two layouts?

Hello, Reto.
The standard pitch 2.54mm should be over there to install connector pins. The pad is using to connect the wire on other board's side.

Hi David

Thanks, now i checked the system. I'll try out your antenna. I'm very interested how good it works.

Electrically all seems OK. But it could be, that the circle (5V Pad) was a bit moved to the right. The whole is off-center. I moved it back and all looks optical better. I think both variants will work.

Hi Reto,
Thank you for your kind offer, I will talk to my two friends that would like the other boards and see what they think.

Hello, Reto
I don't see anything wrong.

Hello David,

I ordered some PCB's from the HFPU-100 Amplifier and got a message from the pcb manufacturer, that there's an issue in the Board Layout.

The answer of the pcb manufacturer:
As shown below, indicated drill hole & trace seem abnormal, could u pls check it??

I also checked the Sprintlayout file. Looks similar.

Is that correct? Or should the whole be more in the senter of the pad? The connection between the rectangulare pad and the round (with off center whole) is correct?

EDIT: It seems to be ok, The PAD is only a mesure point I think.

Hi Isaac

Thank you for the detailed description. I'll try it out the next days and will report my experiences.

I try to operate the ody2 in my network, not with a peer to peer connection (this works). In network, the actual installed version have troubles.

Hello David
Thanks again for your answer. I'll do that this way. Hope it will work.
Interesting small project again. And I think its not finished. I'll build also your 100W PA for completing the ody 2 system. :)

Hello, Reto.
Yes, shield !
A distance is not important but should be minimal using my 3d printed corners.

Reto,

Try Thetis 2.7.0. To install it do the following:

I am using this version with Ody-2 and it works OK. You can the join the discussion in https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3345&sid=862ca30b765d11f7fb09c1a98474d055&start=90 and read it for yourself. Richie has done a lot of work on Thetis and fixed quite a few problems since 2.6.7. Unfortunately, he retired from working on it and for now nobody has undertaken the job yet.

If you have questions you are welcome to ask.

Hello David,

Yes, I also recogniced, that thetis crashes after 1 hour or so also in peer-to-peer mode (Odyssey directly attached to the PC). After a restart it works again für 1 or 2 hours.

SDR Console works stable. But has not all possible functions for the Ody2, i think.

Hello David,

Ahhh.. now it's clear, I thought about that, but was not sure. Cut the "Shield" of the coaxial cable. The distance of the "gap" is not essential?

I'll tray out this antenna. Because testing Odyssey RX... low bands.

Hello, Reto.
I don't know what is this, but obviously Tethis is not working good. I would try older versions of that.

Hi David,

Yeasterday I get it work for a few times. Also over WLAN. With ANAN10. But today it don't works anymore... I have to figure out what this could be. SDR Console works everytime I start it.

Hello David,

Sounds very interesting! UHSDR is a very interesting project which I use since it exists. It can be used in many TRX like mchf, Eagle, SParrow and i40. But not in a DDC until now. But Andreas is working also on a DDC, I don't know the state of his development. He don't tells about a time frame, only that he works on it. WIth UHSDR a standalone DDC TRX may be possible.

Hello David,

What you mean with "a Gap in sheats of Cable". I don't understand this part. But Your Antenna seems to be very interesting for Receiving low bands.
