I do not have a direct connection, it is connected to a 16-port Gigabit switch.

David Fainitski
Hello, Sid.
Yes, it is correct. But before change the bootloader by the same method with using bootloader 2.1 .rbf from this topic, flash to zero's slot. New firmware flash to needed slot 1 to 3. David.

Checking the procedure for upgrading is correct. 1. Power up in Bootloader mode. 2. ./BootLoader_2.1.pyw (Address of my ODY-2 changed to 192.168.10.89) 3. select Odyssey_2_1.20_ANP.pof as the programming file. 73 ... Sid.

Bootloader update to 2.1
David Fainitski
Hello, people
Small update our bootloader to 2.1 ver. Improved stability, "FPGA ERROR" message on the display when FPGA did not started, possibility to make a reset device after change a firmware by one-click-button. The MCU firmware update is desirable but id not necessarily. Also on the Git https://github.com/Dfinitski/Odyssey-2_2017_TRX/tree/master/Bootloader_2.1

New firmware 1.20 ANP for Thetis 2.6.7
Hello, people.
There is new firmware based on the latest 12.0 firmware for Angelia (K5SO is autor). It should to work fine with new version of Thetis 2.6.7 Link for downloading Thetis - https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases Unfortunually, ATU control still does not work in this version too. Thetis does not set General Packet byte 58 bit 1 when you push down Tune button in Thetis. The Tune signal was commented in K5SO verilog code. So as is. I can not to do nothing with this. Tell me know if you will find mistakes. This is only beta version. David

Thank you David. That was not obvious 😊
That’s clear now. I used to protect my receivers with such a trick when I was SWL… many years from now
>The bulbs located close to RF connectors ADC1 and ADC2
I was trying to locate them using the pictures of you blog… I spot the location on the pcb, on the left side of each SMA.
Tnks again. Be sure I’ll ask further stupid questions, as long as I don’t have the whole picture in my brain. 73’

Re: sourcing Ody components
Hello, Mark
These two bulbs work here like fuses. If 100W from transmitter would go to RF input, the bulb will burned. Or, if power level will be around 20-50W, the bulb will to glow. You can short bulb's socket but if something will go wrong you will forced to change more other components, much more expensive. The bulbs located close to RF connectors ADC1 and ADC2 David.

Many thanks Christian
Great news… I think I already have a bunch of such small I2C driven Oled displays in my junkbox.
About the bulbs, my question was not concerning the sourcing (it’s written in the BOM anyway), but its function. Where is physically located this bulb in the rig ? what is it used to ? If it’s a simple light, a white LED would probably be enough (and I’ll never have to change it in the future) .

sourcing Ody components
Marc olanie
Hi happy SDR users
I'm begining the "component hunting game" for my Ody 2... I'm afraid it won't be the only message of this thread. - Which kind of Oled display (ref if possible) do you use, as this device is not in the BOM - Who knows the location, utility and function of these mysterious "bulb" ref CM8097 we can see in the BOM ? I didn't used such components for more than 35 years (excepted for a demo of a Wien bridge oscillator) 73' Marc f6itu

Odyssey 2 SDR
dlwaddel@netzero.net <dlwaddel@...>
Is there any interest in Odyssey 2 kits?
I would propose having boards made, all the 17 or so QFN and the BGA components installed. All the other SMT components can be hand soldered. I could do a bulk buy of parts and put them into kits. I have no idea what the cost would be. I know that when I priced all the parts to complete one of Davids partially assembled boards together, I cam up with about $550, so I expect the cost of a kit would be a little higher due to the cost of having the QFN and BGA parts installed by someone with the equipment to do that. If interested in a kit, please let me know at dlwaddel@netzero.net. If there is enough interest, I will investigate further. Hi David (I’m not Doug, I’m Marc :- )) ) I just sent you a paypal order… I will play the “in between” guy for this project Don’t worry, we are not interested in fully assembled boards, as we have a nice and efficient reflow oven and a professional “manual” pick and place station.
Wish you a nice 1st of May 1

Hello, Doug
There is no schematic for this project and you will need schematic for correct installing components on the board. All needed info you can find here http://ody-sdr.com/2017/10/15/location-of-the-components-on-the-odyssey-2-transceiver-board/ David
