Yes it's Orawia - one time terminus of the Tuatapere Branch. I think that the concrete factory still in situ (in 2008) would have had it's own siding.

This photo was taken in 2017.

IIRC we were told that a railway was considered from here to Ohai but ended up being carted by road for the same price without building a railway

Golden Bay probably. I doubt if it would be from Orawai or Te Kuha

To my mind the big question is where did the cement come from to make the loading bank.....can Malvern answer that one?
