Rolleston's concrete block station building was opened on 17th March 1969 replacing a wooden structure destroyed by fire in February 1967.

Although the SIMT beyond Templeton became single-track in August 1991, Rolleston lost it's island-platform status a number of years earlier,
as 'down line' at Rolleston station was uplifted and double-track ended at northern-end of Rolleston station limits instead..

Started on scanning some of my old B&W negs, came across this one of Rolleston taken nearly 49 years ago. Rolleston an island station with a Goods Shed and a footbridge. Totally different scene now but still the old concrete block station shelter.
