Froth 105 Maiden Voyage
This got me to thinking about windsurfing vs winging. I'm a mediocre winger, but I'm pretty sure I could make a 70L wing board work fine if there's steady wind. I'd never be able to do much with a 70L

I'll drive - new board still hasn't been wet. Worst Winter Ever! No forecasting expertise here. Windy suggests mid Sound is better than North Sound. Perhaps Edmonds or GG at 10:00 or so?

Naive wingfoil-safety question
It is possible to hit the foil and I've done it maybe once or twice. This happens when I "scissor" the board. I fall to leeward while weighting the board such that the foil comes up on the leeward sid

Probably not - being able to easily go into outrigger mode just means it's easier to catch a wing tip. That said - wing designers and pros don't spend a lot of time in crappy conditions; and even at 5

I call this "outrigger mode". (I think Bruce Barry coined this term.) It makes it easier to slog with a 7m2 over a 5m2 since I don't need to bend to float the trailing edge.
