For those of you who know the area, the Academy is located just south of

Road.

Curious about the details, I contacted the school’s Principal, Mr. Dane
Bailey for additional information. The outcome of that conversation was
a wish list (or pain list) produced by Mr. Bailey, a copy of which has
been attached to this email.

Mr. Bailey indicated, and we verified, the student lab was in serious
need of refurbishment. Since workstations are available in NUGA
inventory, a build of 25 units was begun. As of last weekend, 22 units
(Windows 10 Pro + Office H&B 2010 + trimmings) had been delivered. The
last three units will go to the school this next weekend.

As is evident, Grace Academy’s needs are extensive. Obviously and
firstly, the project needs management. I’m looking for NUGA members or
friends who would be part of a team willing to analyze the needs,
propose and organize a response plan and then track the results. I wager
the technical expertise resides within NUGA.

Anyone else besides Tim Trueblood and Dale Van Sandt interested and
willing to toss their hat into the ring?

Thanks,

FW: Association of Continuity Professionals - Chapter Meetings

Jerry Tibor

All,

There is now a chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals in Alaska.  Details are below.

Jerry

From: Debbie Shannon [mailto:debbie.shannon@...]
Sent: Monday, April 24, 2017 11:49 AM
To: jftibor@...
Subject: Association of Continuity Professionals - Chapter Meetings

It would be greatly appreciated if you could disseminate this information to the NUGA group:

We recently started a local (Greater Alaska) chapter of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP).  We would like to invite you and/or other individuals within your organization who are involved in business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency management, risk management, and other similar disciplines.

The ACP fosters the growth of the business continuity industry through its network of industry experts, education, and the exchange of information and best practices.  It is a resource for business continuity professionals to facilitate the timely resumption of business operations following a significant interruption of a businesses and community.

We meet monthly on the first Wednesday (the next meeting is Wednesday, May 3) from 9-10 a.m. at 2550 Denali St, 11th Floor, Anchorage, AK 99503.  A conference bridge information can be provided if you are not able to attend in-person.

The purpose of the meetings is to:

·         Share knowledge with and gain insight from a network of industry practitioners,

·         Expand skill sets through an extensive knowledge base of resources, and

·         Earn professional education credits for membership and meeting attendance.

If you are struggling to execute an enterprise Business Impact Analysis (BIA), generate needed senior leadership buy-in, or enhance the alignment between your business and IT, this ACP group can provide dialog to address these areas.  These meeting can be an economical alternative to out-of-town conferences as the Chapter addresses the unique environment, needs, and culture of Alaska.

We look forward to having your organization participate at the next ACP meeting!

Debbie
