Tue Oct 27 21:32:00 2020 -0500  version 4.1.15.05

  view_cw
    * change sample rate to be keyed to cw decoder samplerate
      fixes frequency tracking in CW browser

  Canadian Provinces
    * update user configuration panel

  FreeBSD/nullptr
    * nullptr is defined in _null.h

  Navtex
    * fix kml file clean up code

  benchmark
    * update to current gcc version

  Add MFSK Wide Modes
    * Add MFSK-32WIDE and MFSK-64WIDE
    - for both Shortwave Radiogram and Amateur usage
    - heavier constraint length 15 FEC (8-bit error correction)
    - 3.8 second interleaver (3,840 msec)
    - more robust MFSK for long transmissions (radiogram, flamp, etc)

  Phase and FEC quality display
    * Add phase-accuracy display for PSK modes (non-PSK31)
    * Added better FEC confidence code to THOR

  Add new platform optimizations
    * added new --enable-optimizations options to ./configure
      - RaspberryPi 1,2,3,4 [rpi1, rpi2, rpi3, rpi4]
      - BeagleBone Black [bbb]
      - Cyclone5 [cyclone5]
      - Optimize for sse4 [sse4]

        instantiation of Font_Browser class.  Actual time to enumerate
        2650 fonts on an i5 3.2 GHz system is approximately 25
        seconds.  Background process does not effect UI, but selection
        of fixed fonts in font browser dialog may not show all of the
        fixed fonts until the evaluator thread exits.

  PSK Reporter query
    * request fails to pskreporter
      - caused by hard coded request to NWS
      - pskreporter site very slow in responding
        to connect request; caused UI to freeze.
        . change request process to separate thread

  Logbook compile warning
    * replace strncpy with "*comma_position ="

Dave,

On my Windows 10 PC, I am unable to execute fldigi-4.1.15.05_setup.exe

Fldigi-4.1.15_setup.exe opens OK.

Thanks

Kim,

I just downloaded and tested 4.1.15.05 on a Dell Latitude Notebook, Windows 10 Professional, 64 bit.  Windows Defender did require specific download and install execution permission (as usual).  The Windows firewall required permission for access to local host socket services.  Shut fldigi 4.1.15.05 down and restarted ... restart is much faster than 4.1.15.

Please try deleting, repeat the download and execution.

Found my way to Window Defender Exclusions (never had to use it before), and now 4.1.15.05 is installed, and it opens.

Looking forward to trying the MFSK Wide modes.

Thanks Dave.

Fldigi 4.1.15.05 works fine on my W10 machine.

I do have a question though. This has been going on for many versions for me. When I put a call in the call box and I click on the QRZ globe, it brings me to the QRZ.com site and populates the calls information. It will not fill in the rest of the boxes on the program, qth, op, st, L or azmith. As I said QRZ works fine. when I click on the notetab, I get a QRZ error: username/ password required. I have tried many things but I haven't got that to work again.

Kim,

Be sure to notify your listener audience if you decide to include the MFSK wide modes in an HF/AM broadcast.  Those mode are only in 4.1.15.05 and higher.  These are experimental modes and may or may not be a permanent part of the fldigi modem suite.  Your broadcast results will be invaluable to the developer, John KF4YFD.

OK David.

I plan to transmit the MFSK Wide modes this weekend on Shortwave Radiogram.

In the meantime, the audio for the experiment is here ...

https://swradiogram.net/post/633261475902947329/this-9-minute-25-second-mp3-file-includes-a-news

This 9 minute, 25 second mp3 file includes a news story about volcanoes on Jupiter’s moon Io.

The text is is divided roughly equally (by number of characters) into four parts:

MFSK32 3:11

MFSK32WIDE 2:54

MFSK64WIDE 1:48

MFSK64 1:33
