Let me clarify this a bit. ALC continuously changes in 1.3.54 while transmitting a constant tone from either Fldigi or WSJT-X. This was not happening in 1.3.53 or any point releases. 73, Harry W3YJ

The bar graph for ALC in Flrig 1.3.54 constantly changes value while transmitting a constant audio tone. In 1.3.53 and all the point releases, ALC stayed constant. This is on Raspberry Pi 4 with an IC

I have retired from ARES. These documents are now very old and need to be revised. But it will be somebody else doing the re-write. Any volunteers? 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ

If I can move in front of the curtain for a moment.... I wrote that chapter in the ARRL Public Service Handbook. Glad to hear it's being put to good use! 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ

Transmit audio level for FM VHF?
You're right...it's been a while since I've done NBEMS on VHF/UHF FM. Slightly lower audio level than voice is indeed the best. And a deviation meter is just not needed. 73, Harry W3YJ

My opinion as somebody who used to conduct a ton of NBEMS training... Getting the modulation perfectly set on VHF/UHF FM isn't worth the time and trouble. Adjust so that the transmitted NBEMS audio is

Wow! Thanks! So, to optimize for Raspberry Pi 4, you need to do something like ./configure --enable-optimizations=rpi4 ? 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ

NBEMS and Winlink can work together
I hate to wade into this because I'm now out of ARES/ACS/RACES but... Another issue with NTS is the insistence of using the ARRL Radiogram. This is an obsolete and ancient message form designed for CW

Built and installed. My question is more about "why" than "what." If I am already using a K1EL Winkeyer connected to Fldigi to send CW, why would I want to use Flrig instead? 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ
