Agreed. Somebody had to first discover to discover the "glitch" and let Dave know. This time it was me.

Very true. However, until I open a third party app and discover the incompatibility, it doesn't really matter when I installed the OS upgrade. David, has done a wonderful job this afternoon getting things straightened out.

You can disable automatic MacOS updates so that you can update on your schedule. See the attached screenshot of System Preferences. 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ

My advice is to revert to the
previous version of the OS and disable automatic version
updates.

Re: Beware macOS V11.0.1
I feel your pain. I use an application called SARTrak for public service events. The developer had a propensity for pushing updates at the most inopportune times. (Thankfully, the app is much more stable, and updates are much less more frequent.) The beauty of the updates is that you HAD to do the update or it wouldn’t work. And yes, the night before an event is when an update rolled out. Had to update all the laptops at 5AM. Good times.

0930 today was our countywide Fall SET. The entire family of Fldigi programs opened as great white blobs of non-functionality. Obviously, things did not go well on this end. Looking forward to fix in Fldigi "The Next Generation". Anyone have an idea of a release date? 73 Guy, WA3JZN

Hi John, Feedback much appreciated. I am learning (especially from a recent emergency practice net here) that sometimes glitches I experienced that I thought were due to equipment error, were in fact operator error; mine. Yikes. Good learning moments to strengthen the internal neural networks. Thanks for your kind patience and clear explanations. 73, Ole'

Re: AndFlmsg; attaching forms to text msgs? sent messages not always listed as sent: yellow time clock missing?
John (vk2eta)
Hi Ole,
Here is the current logic for transferring the messages from the outbox to the sent folder: 1. If send over radio, always transfer to sent folder unless the operator pressed "Stop Tx" button in the modem screen. This is true if the message is send individually or in batch (send all messages). 2. If sharing the message from the Outbox only: If the sharing app (for example email or sms app) returns a "Successful Completion" flag, transfer to sent folder. If the sharing app returns a "Cancelled" flag, then we prompt the user for transferring to the sent folder. Now you may ask, why not always transfer to the sent folder if the sharing app returns a success flag and NOT transfer otherwise. Well, well I wish it was that simple, but some pretty common email apps including hmmm, hmmm Gmail to name one, do NOT return a "Success flag" even if the email is sent as expected. That means that from an AndFlmsg app point of view we are in the dark as to what happened to the share action, hence the prompt if not successful. Hope I have confused you enough! In a nutshell your last paragraph describes exactly how the app is coded at the moment. Remember this app was designed to pass messages over radio as its primary focus. Hope that helps. All the best. 73, John

Re: AndFlmsg; attaching forms to text msgs? sent messages not always listed as sent: yellow time clock missing?

Hi John, I reviewed what I posted; "
I also checked whether the new version would send via Gmail attachment.
That worked fine. What I observed, however, was the "SENT" tab did not
seem to bring up the list of sent messages when they were sent as
attachments. They oddly were still in "OUTBOX." However, when selecting
"SEND ALL MESSAGES," the phone brought up the familiar sounds of
MT64_2000LG, the messages disappeared from the" OUTBOX" and appeared in
"SENT MESSAGES." That is a change from the old install which would list
messages sent via Gmail as well as a tone mode. Interestingly, all the
test messages that I sent on the newer software, did seem to be listed
under "LOGS" even when they stayed in the "OUTBOX." If of any use, the
phone; low dollar Nokia, with Android 9" Re sent messages not always showing up, I see these possibilities; a)
operator error, me not doing something correctly, such as selecting "YES"
re "do you want to move this message to the "SENT," b) the phone,
Nokia 3.1, not a powerhouse but seems reliable, or c) something in the
version that was used. I did not record the version that was used..
Apologies for that and in raising what appears to be a non-issue with the phone's software, again most likely operator error.. I just now resent a message twice via Gmail, selected "YES" each time to move the message to "SENT" and it worked both times. A third time, selecting "NO" kept the message in the "OUTBOX." Next, tested "TX OVER RADIO" and the message automatically appeared in "SENT." A handy choice to have. 73, Ole

Hello Ole,
Yes the clock has been removed as it was attached to the GPS time function that caused problems with non Google-approved devices (tablets mainly) which lacked hardware GPS units. Since there were no Flmsg function attached to the display of time, I removed it. In the subject you mentioned "Sent messages not always listed as sent". Could you elaborate please? 73, John

Hi John,
FYI & Question; I installed 1.3.13 over the weekend from Source forge and noticed today the the yellow "mm:ss" clock in the upper left portion of the terminal screen was not there. I checked the "Settings" and it did not appear to be in there. Though,.... could be me, doc says I am becoming a candidate for cataract surgery. Also, I did mention AndFlmsg's new ability to send text on a recent Oregon District One ARES net. Thanks in advance. 73, Ole KI7MBR
