Yaesu FT-991A and Fldigi

I'm helping a fellow Ham with setting up his Yaesu FT-991A to use with Fldigi. I'm spoiled with my Kenwood TS-590S which was so easy to set up.

Can a FT-991A user send me the radio menu setup for using the internal USB codec sound device. I've seen suggestions about using the USB serial emulator for PTT but I would think it would be easier to use data VOX for PTT. Also I'm confused if you need USB-Data for HF and what you would use for FM.

Then I'm guessing in Fldigi you need the USB Codec set for both capture and playback. Also, I'm guessing for DATA VOX you do not need any serial port PTT checked. Also do any selections in Right channel need to be selected.

Problem with nanoIO in fldigi ver4.1.05

Vlad Boyko

Hi there,
I installed fldigi ver4.1.05 on Ubuntu 19.04.
Everything is working fine, except some problems with nanoCW modem.
feature "disable PTT" is not working
It is impossible to change keyer type. Only default lambic-A is working.
Is it any external settings to make it work, or it is valid bug?

Thank you

Vlad, de W6BVB

Two different links.  Change of one character in the file name.  If a link does not work you can always right click on the link to see what the reference URL looks like, for example "http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/flmsg/flmsg-blah-blah-blah.etc".  Then try entering the folders portion of the reference into your browser URL bar, i.e. "http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/flmsg/".

Development test versions are posted at http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/

The contents of each remote folder may change at any time.  That is the very essence of rapid application development.  Older test versions are always superceded.

Tested:
Linux 4.19.42-v7+ Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) with FLTK 1.3.4
Fldigi 4.1.04
Flmsg 4.0.10.03

Geometry option now works with either '-g' or '-geometry'. Note that the Raspbian Stretch stock fltk package is 1.3.4, not 1.4.

Dave, thanks so much for enabling these options. The title works great and will be very handy for those of us who occasionally run 2 instances of Flmsg. The ability to resize the window is very helpful, too.

Looks good on Raspbian Stretch with latest updates. Both title and geometry options now work. New received messages appear in Rcvd Messages window as expected instead of opening a new instance of Flmsg (was fixed in 4.0.10.01).

Two very minor nits for 4.0.10.02:

Custom title must be specified using '-ti' parameter. The custom title setting will be ignored if specified with '-title'.
Geometry must be specified using '-geometry' parameter. The custom geometry will be ignored if specified with '-g'.

Was finally able to test it this morning.

FLDigi 4.1.04 and FLMsg 4.0.10.01 using Windows 10 Home fully updated.

It's all working normally again.

Thanks.

Re: Flmsg 4.0.8 Fltk UI option bugs #flmsg

Thanks much, Dave. The title issue is more important for those of us who run multiple instances of Flmsg, each tied to a different radio, so we can tell them apart.

Steve

working on these two.  Title fix was easy.  Making every form / control resizable is not.

2) For THIS thread, regarding the '-title' and segfault when using '-geometry' parameter bugs as I described in my original post below: Those issues still exist in 4.0.10.01.

Re: Flmsg 4.0.8 Fltk UI option bugs #flmsg

flmsg overrides the -t command line parameter; I can change that

flmsg uses a fixed geometry.  You cannot change it.  The position of the dialog is saved between executions.

Both the -t and -g command line parameters are a part of the fltk UI.  For now, the answer to your post is, do not use those parameters.
