Charles,

Try using Audacity to convert a wav to mp3.  The only requirement for the mp3 is that is be 32 bit float format.

Greetings,

I installed fldigi-4.1.08.18 last week on a windows xp system.  I am finding that macros with inline commands are either hanging or getting out of sequence.  For instance if I try to send short bits of text using 3 different modes the macro will either start and send the first of 3 parts or get out of sequence and send all 3 parts but with the modes jumping out of the correct order. Less frequently a mode will stall in transmit with no text attached.  A sure way to demo this is to run this macro and do escape to cancel after the first modem.  Then restart and the modems will be out of order.  Canceling again will rotate the modems one more down the sequence on the next restart.  It would appear the buffer for the inline commands does not clear on a cancellation.

Thank you for the kind words Bo.

I'm getting ready to post .24 later today with a few additional RTTY enhancements.  The <BEL>, 0x07 character decode has been in the request loop for a long time.  It's implementation required the audible alert to work correctly.  Now that it does I'm add a <BEL> short cut key for the Tx widget keyboard entry: control-shift-g.  The complete list of control-shift keys will then be:

    control-shift-c  : <CALL>
    control-shift-m  : <MYCALL>
    control-shift-n  : <NAME>
    control-shift-r  : <RST>
    control-shift-l  : <MYLOC>
    control-shift-h  : <MYQTH>
    control-shift-a  : <ANTENNA>
    control-shift-g  : <BEL> 0x07

I'm pretty sure that there aren't many fldigi users who are even aware of the short cut list.  BTW those short cuts also apply to modes like PSK-31 etc.  So you can give your early morning PSK-31 QSO partner a wake up call with a series of <BEL>s.

A bell for RTTY, eh?  How about some Model 15 noises for the background to go along with what I call the RTTY MUSIC?
Looking forward to trying out the new features!

A great big THANK YOU from millions all over the world.

If you used Linux this would be simple from the command line:

cat fldigi20191019.log | sed -n -e 's/^.*): //p'|less

I have now confirmed that I am able to successfully send over FSQ. When a transmission comes in, I can hear and see the signal on the radio, and the s-meter in flrig shows the signal strength, but no message appears in the windows.

Configuring Fldigi/Flrig for IC-9700 FSQ and MT63 #digitalradio #flrig #flmsg

Michele - WB6F

Hi there.

I am trying to get set up with my new Icom 9700 for sending digital messages over FSQ in FLDIGI and over MT-63 2KL in FLMSG and I am having some problems I hope someone could help me with.

I have been able to configure things as far as getting flrig and fldigi and the radio all talking to each other and controlling each other in changing frequencies. I have at one point been able to transmit successfully on FSQ but not receive, and now I am unsure if I can still do that. I do not hear the carrier when I send but I do see it appear in the monitor window. I do hear carrier of transmissions coming in however nothing appears either in the yellow area of the main window nor in the monitor. I am able to hear and be heard on the radio in voice transmissions.

I have the radio set on FM with the Data Mod and Data OFF Mod set at USB. Detailed settings can be seen in the attached screenshots.

Hello Roger,

This thread probably should be on the linuxham@groups.io list as it's more appropriate for that list (more Linux and compiling centric stuff).

With that said, Fldigi 4.1.08 does compile fine on Centos6 (aka SL6) like you previously stated though the only different on my Centos machine is:
--
fltk-1.3.4.2-1.el6.x86_64
fltk-devel-1.3.4.2-1.el6.x86_64
fltk-fluid-1.3.4.2-1.el6.x86_64
--

but I don't think the fluid package is needed as I think I had added it to test for something else.  Anyway, you might want to read say:

   https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19901934/libpthread-so-0-error-adding-symbols-dso-missing-from-command-line

and see if any of those hints help you.  If not, I can try building up Fldigi in a VM and see if I can reproduce.

This looks like an fltk library issue. Checking what fltk libraries are
installed I get:-

fltk-devel-1.3.4-1.el7.x86_64
fltk-1.3.4-1.el7.x86_64

Which matches what the install notes say I need.

Ok, what obvious error I have I missed?

Pi3/4 Stats Monitor

Version 1.01.00

pistats samples and displays various operating parameters of both the Pi3 and Pi4 series of computers.
  • CPU temperature at 1 second intervals.
  • CPU load percentage
  • Raw data from the /proc/stat file
  • Interpreted data from the /proc/stat file
  • Processed output from the program 'top' every NN seconds
  • Raw data from the lscpu command
The data is displayed in text and graphic format:
text:
  • CPU in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit
  • CPU clock frequency in GHz
  • CPU load in percent
  • Top output, configurable list of processes
  • proc/stat contents
  • lscpu output
graphic:
  • CPU in degrees Celsius.  The temperature scale origin and range can be set by the user.  The time scale duration can be set by the user.
  • CPU percentage, 0 ... 100 percent.  Time scale synchronized to the CPU temperature plot
The graphic scales can be changed without the need to reset the graph.

The program can write the data to a text file, which is a spreadsheet compatible CSV file:
Sec  Min Temp Freq % total  % core1   % core2   % core3   % core4
During operation a small indicator will flash WHITE/RED in the lower left corner at a 1 second interval.

The dialog can be resized; including maximum screen display.  The initial dialog size is larger than the minimum width/height allowed.

User can set the graph colors, background, grid, and foreground/data-line.  The graphic data normally scrolls right to left.  The user can reverse for left to right scrolling.

Program remembers position, width, height, and user set parameters between uses.

Harry--I had xcvr on 7.076, LSB (or on the the TS-130, just on SSB.  It assumes you are on LSB if you are on 40 or 80.

Re: fldigi setup on TS-130S

Regarding bringing out audio and PTT signals for fldigi, etc:

Sorry I have no pictures of my TS-130S modification to bring out audio signals for fldigi, etc.  The service manual is available on-line (Google finds several locations) and a study of the schematic diagram and board layout of the IF unit will help anyone find the referenced locations if you know what to look for..

Yes it takes a little patience to find the locations on the drawings and then on the actual unit but all the parts are old-style and do not require microscope vision to find them.  Only normal soldering skills (not surface mount) are required to do the job.  A magnifying hood visor helps.

I ran the cables out through a hole in the back panel and the MiniDIN6 connector is mounted in a small cast aluminum box.  This similar to what I have done on a number of old functionally obsolete VHF transceivers for packet and APRS beacons which I suppose could also serve for fldigi on VHF.
