the message for transmission, the autosend button
should change into an "Abort" button, in which the user

Flamp has a very nice abort function; an option which
would greatly benefit flmsg.

Hi, I'm new to the group so please forgive the ignorance if this is this is out of place here.

However I've got a Yaesu FT-1000D with a Signal Link USB and for some reason FLDIGI stopped addressing the interface to the radio. It worked fine at one point however it seemed like it stopped working after trying to use FLRig.  Ive tried rebooting, uninstalling and downloading and reinstalling FLDIGI still nothing. I know it's not the interface or the Signal Link since I down loaded HRD and it works fine with the radio.  I really don't need HRD and I really loved using FLDIGI.  Ive tried changing the combo in the rig configuration to every combo I can think of.

BTW I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

 Can someone please help out?!

Hi Mark,

I am a beginner at all this, but recall that when I installed Fldigi on the old Lenovo laptop running Linux Mint 18.1, there seemed to be a separate package to install which held the forms and which was followed then perhaps a hoop or two to jump through to have it all link together, including the check sum process.  Once done, the lap top and and Android phone communicated quite well, beeping and chirping next to each other on the dining room table; speaker-to-mike.  Although my skill level at this is akin to a blind squirrel looking for an acorn, none the less, hope this provides some insight since rumor has it Mac's OS are Linux based.  73, KI7MBR Ole

~/.nbems is a hidden folder.  You can unhide from the Finder menus or create a link to the hidden folder

$ cd
$ ln -s .nbems nbems.files

It's a good idea to do the same for all of the flxxxx hidden files

$ ln -s .fldigi fldigi.files
$ ln -s .flrig flrig.files
$ ln -s .flcluster flcluster.files
$ ln -s .fllog fllog.files

Of course this only applies to those application that you have installed and have executed at least once.

Learn more about the "ln" command

$ man ln

Download and install
It will honor both setting the arq-server-port on the command line and/or the configuration panel.  The command line parameter will override any previously set port on the configuration panel.

Hi Dave,
Yes, fldigi 4.0.19.102 works with flmsg 4.0.8.03.  Both are using the folder specified in --flmsg-dir.  I copied traffic from an ARES net this evening, and all of the messages went to the folder specified in --flmsg-dir.

I noticed that when I include the --arq-server-port 7332 argument in both fldigi and flamp command strings, that flamp doesn't receive the data blocks from fldigi.  If I remove the --arq-server-port 7332 argument from the flamp command string, then it does receive the data blocks from fldigi.  The flamp help says the default arq-server-port is 7322.  It seems like fldigi may be using the default port 7322 instead of the port that was specified in the --arq-server-port 7332 argument.

I assumed that if I want to run two sets of fldigi, flmsg, and flamp (one for HF and one for VHF), that each set of apps would need its own arq-server-port.  Am I using the --arq-server-port argument correctly?

Andflmsg; forms do not want to save to outbox

Ole Helgerson KI7MBR

Greetings,

Have installed Andflmsg (either 1.2.0 or 1.2.1) on three Android devices; Moto G 2nd Gen (Android 6.0), Nokia 3.1 (Android 8.1.0) and Samsung Tab A (Android 5.1.1).

A very nifty set up, especially as compared to setting up and using the desktop version of Fldigi or Winlink.

Practiced sending messages both text and using forms one device to another "mic-to-speaker" first with devices next to each other on a table and next radio-to-radio with Android devices adjoining the sending and receiving radios with no problem (though the older Moto G tended to drop characters or shut down after transmission or both).   Lastly the Easy Digi interface was tested with a minor technical linking issue to resolve (1) and again the Nokia and Samsung came through in fine fashion.   The newer Nokia and Samsung seemed quite reliable.

And then.....all devices ceased to save any filled out forms to the outbox.   All would happily re-transmit (forward) any received forms. But pressing long or slow on the  [Submit, Save in Outbox] tab resulted in nothing subsequently showing up in the [Outbox] when it was pressed either long or slow.  Likewise for saving as draft.

Attempted solutions: 1) Close out and restart Andflmsg. Results; no change. 2) Restart android device. Result; no change. 3) Delete ver. 1.2.0 and load ver.1.2.1 on the Nokia. Result; no change.

As for file storage, the Samsung is; Internal Storage / AndFlmsg / NBEMS, AndFlmsg_1.2.1_20170505.apk.  The Nokia is; SanDisc SD Card / AndFldigi / AndFlmsg_1.2.1_20170505.apk, with NBEMS.files also directly under the SandDisc

It was working very smoothly, until this bump in the road.  Had not changed any settings that I can recall.....  Can't think of anything more to try.

Suggestions most welcome!

Kind thanks in advance.

Ole

(1) Quick report of how things worked out with Easy Digi interface with the Icom T70 ht.  Bottom line; all Android devices received well when directly plugged into the Icom via Easy Digi.  Transmission, however, seems to required having the factory OPC-2006 cable between the radio and Easy Digi to activate the radio's VOX circuitry. Only the 2.5mm pin from the Easy Digi connects with the OPC cable.  Sort of like having to shift gears instead of relying on an automatic tranny in a car. Re: Andflmsg; forms do not want to save to outbox; solution, sharper tap with finger tip

Ole Helgerson KI7MBR

Problem solved. Whew.  Kind of embarrassed I did not think of it sooner, but if it helps anyone, what works is a sharp tap with the finger tip on the [Submit, Save in Outbox] tab.  :)  73 de KI7MBR

Re: Andflmsg; forms do not want to save to outbox; solution, sharper tap with finger tip

John (vk2eta)

Hello Ole,

Thank you for sharing that information.

I see what could be causing confusion: the HTML form buttons (the submit buttons) only respond to Android defined "short press", but the application buttons like the ones at the top of the screen (return, share, etc...) respond to both short and long presses.

Something to look into.

Glad you got it working and highlighted this.

All the best,

FLDIGI FLMSG updates on MacbookPro

Lew

I use NBEMS with no issues on my Win10 desktop, but last night my local ARES group ran a hands on workshop.  I was the only one who was using a MacbookPro.  I was able to download the latest versions, but could not get past the security settings on the laptop.
Can someone help me find a workaround so that it will run these programs that are not downloaded from the APPSTORE?

Thanks

Go to your security settings in the System Preferences app, you should see a box to click on to bypass the download restriction after you reenter your password.

Go to Security & Privacy System preference, Under the General Tab make sure the button under Allow apps downloaded from : App Store and identified Developers is checked.

When you attempt to launch any of the Apps you will get a pop up that says basically DENIED. Then go to the same panel mentioned above and you will see a message asking you “Launch Anyway” or something to that effect. Click it and away you go. You need to do that for each program of the suite.

I use a MacBook Air & Mini. VMware Fusion when needed for Winders applications. Parallels is supposed to be faster.

If you put the app on the launch bar you have the open of right-clicking the app and selecting "open".  You only need to do that the first time a "suspect" application is launched.
