Hello, Mike,

one more question... In Multipsk HFDL displays the short messages of pilots and ground stations like this:

[Unnumbered Data LPDU] [Enveloped Data HFNPDU]
<SOH>2.VQ-BWB<NAK>A9W<STX>ON K
AND ADVISE AIRCRAFT TYPE ON FIRST
CONTACT WITH HEATHROW8A73<ETX><BS>><DEL>

AUTO 01008KT 330V040 9999 FEW043 14/04

<End frame>

Could these short messages be made visible on HFDL Dislpay-Launcher?

Thank you and 73

Hello
I am also getting same error under Win10 when starting Hfdl-display. The error window appears a few consecutive times, then finally we get the display screen but the connection with PChfdl anyway does not work. When trying to update the database an error "Runtime error 9 subscript out of range" is also displayed.
I am running on same computer an old PC-Hfdl version 1.0.47 which I moved from a previous system and this one works fine, so feeding from pc-hfdl log should be correct, as weel as the "comma/point" management which occurred in that version. I personally suspect more about WIn10, I had several different problems also with other ham softwares on this new system...
If there is any test I can do for a better problem determination please let me know.
Best regards. Mauro

Hello Patrick.
The bias-T also works for the RSP1A.
The SDRPLAY works really well with Multipsk.
Many thanks for getting it to work, something I have wanted for sometime now.

Hello Mike,

For information (in case of…), in Delphi we have the instructions DecimalSeparator (between “.” or “,”) and THOUSANDSEPARATOR (between “,” or “ ”). They might exist on the language that you use.

Users in Germany and the Netherlands have advised that they were getting Error messages when starting Display-Launcher in several modules .

This seems to happen where the decimal separator in some areas use the 'comma' rather than the 'point' used in UK/USA. For example where 24,123 is used rather than 24.123

I have recompiled all of the modules in Display-Launcher and the new 'European' version is on my site now, for those countries where this can happen.

Please advise of any further problems.

Hello Richard,

I have added the possibility to close the DDE connection with Commander, after connection, on clicking on the “Connected” button. So you will be able to toggle between Connection and Disconnection.

Notice that I said I run Commander whether it is interfacing with Multipsk or not.  I control my R8600 receiver almost exclusively using Commander as I work with several radio applications and other SDRs from my laptop.  But if I use Multipsk with another receiver (an SDR for instance) it still "sees" my R8600 and can communicate with it.  Fine, if nothing goes wrong.

Here is a typical scenario where a problem can occur.  I am receiving WSPR with my R8600 and controlling it via Commander and am not using Multipsk at the moment.  By using Commander I can control remotely and I want this capability.  Now let's start up Multipsk to receive an audio feed from SDRSharp connected to an RTL-SDR to receive/decode APRS packets.  Multipsk "sees" that Commander is running and makes the connection to my R8600.  So if I am looking at, let's say,  a list of QRG's for whatever mode I am decoding at the time, and I should accidentally click on one of them it gets sent to (guess where) the R8600.

If everything works perfectly, including the user (me) in question, there is no problem.  But hope you can see why it might be useful to have the option to turn off communications between Multipsk and Commander.

Re: How to disable Commander

Hello Patrick,

Yes.  I always am configured to start from the configuration screen and then I open the RX/TX screen.  Commander starts automatically and I have never been able to figure out how to turn off the connection.  The button at the bottom shows "connected" since I always run Commander whether using Multipsk or not.  But pressing the button is apparently not the way to disconnect from Commander.

Thanks.

Richard

Re: How to disable Commander

Hello Richard,

Do you mean that in the configuration where Multipsk and Commander are started up, with Multipsk,  normally, connected automatically to Commander (button “Connected” at the bottom), you want to disconnect Multipsk from Commander.  Do you confirm?

There are times when I want to be sure that Multipsk isn't interacting with my R8600 radio through Commander.  Is there a way to turn off the direct comnnection in Multipsk?

By the way I really appreciate the ability to interface with the radio via the Commander connection.  I have also configured the User Defined Controls in Commander so I can control directly when not using Multipsk.

Thanks

Richard
