Very useful article, thanks.
I had no success last night despite a high pass and good reception of others.  I will read the article and try again.

I'm new at communicating via 1200 baud packet and the International Space Station.  As you can see by the attached screenshot, Multipsk works well for capturing the packet data. For those amateur operators using the software, how do you transmit on the uplink ?  I am assuming astronauts are not sitting in their spacecraft typing replies , so if I transmit what should I be looking for to indicate I was heard?  Another ham responding or just seeing my own text repeated back via the downlink ?

I have yet to try Multipsk for Shortwave Radio Gram MFSK-32 decoding. Does Multipsk auto save pictures that are sent during the broadcast and which folder?

Thanks,

Hi Patrick,
I have now placed the crosshair on the signal.  That was not the picture I thought I was sending.

With the crosshair on the signal, I never get the "Reception of the time frame" box to show any activity.  The progress bar never shows up.

Years ago, this worked with my Perseus and previous computers.

Regards,
George

Interestingly enough, if I wait a few minutes, then those blank screens are populated with text.  I still get the divide by zero error message.

So I was able to calibrate the sound card.  When I exited the program and re-started, Clock wanted me to re-calibrate the sound card again.  So I have not been able to to restart the program after calibration.

I do not get any decoding of the information from WWVB.  Years ago and 2 computers ago, this program (earlier versions) worked fine.By the way, the sound card is 5 years old.  It is called a Sound Blaster Z.

I notice that only default sound card is listed. Virtual audio cables are not listed.

Hello Patrick,

Yes, I run the Clock program as administrator and get the error message immediately when running the program.

I click on 'OK' in the error message popup window and then the opening screen of the Clock program appears.

I am using Windows 8.1

Thanks for the quick reply.

Regards,

George

Patrick,

I am now getting a waterfall for WWVB.  Where do I put the cursor line?  Please see the attached picture (WWVB.BMP).

I have the Perseus set to 59.5 khz, USB.

Hi Patrick,

Update:  Now I do not see any signal in the waterfall.  WWVB is S7 here.I am using a Perseus receiver, with the audio going to the speakers.  I do not know what else to do to have the signal show up on the Clock waterfall.

Do you mean before pushing any button on the first screen? Or after having pushed some button as “WWVB”?

The indication “10750” indicates something wrong with the sound card, but what?.

Note: Clock and Multipsk cannot make a difference between Virtual or not sound card. This is the job of Windows (Clock and Multipsk leans on Windows for about sound card). An API of Windows gives the list of the sound cards.

Hello Patrick,

Yes, I run the Clock program as administrator and get the error message immediately when running the program.

I click on 'OK' in the error message popup window and then the opening screen of the Clock program appears.

I am using Windows 8.1

Thanks for the quick reply.

If it’s an old Sound Blaster sound card, it’s a 44.1 KHz one. You could try to select the “Sound card 44.1 KHz”, close the program and run again Clock. Who knows?
