Re: Feature Request: Airspy Spyserver Client

Patrick Lindecker

Hello,

As far that I know, there is no simple (and standard) TCP/IP interface as for RTL/SDR and SDRplay, so no possibility to interface easily Airspy receivers with Multipsk and other programs.

Spyclient is for people using Pithon 3 under Linux…another world.

Hello Patrick,

Would you have the time and energy to look into adding support to use a remote SpyServer as an IQ/Audio source?
i run 3 of them in my network as the Raspberry Pi is installed remotely (on the roof) and my only way of communicating is either using VirtualHere USB over IP (slow over Wifi) or SDR# to connect to SpyServer then stream sound over to MultiPSK through a Virtual Audio cable.

This Project here should help with the specifics of establishing the connection and communicating with a SpyServer: https://github.com/sam210723/spyclient

I own a license to MultiPSK and would be happy to pay something for your time!!

Please make it happen :)

Thank you!

FANS-1/A CPDLC is transmitted in ACARS messages, so you have to activate whatever is required to receive ACARS (I don't use MultiPSK on a daily basis, so I can't give you an exact button / option name).

You can identify CPDLC messages by their ACARS label - CPDLC uplinks have AA label, while downlinks have BA.

Once you collect some messages, you can copy out their contents from the log file and decode them manually using decode_acars_apps program, which comes bundled with libacars (https://github.com/szpajder/libacars). You can build it from source and run on Linux or use Windows binaries from https://github.com/szpajder/libacars/releases .

Hello Josef,

A priori, it can’t. I don’t know these messages in fact. It think that someone spoke about these messages some years ago, the decoder used was of Linux one.

Re: Questions on LPRT reception

Patrick Lindecker

By precaution, it is preferable that your PC and your LNA be supplied on batteries (not to the net). Interferences can come from the electric net.

No, the signal is not yet stable and the "synchro" is going and coming. This is the reason for having only 3800 frames and partial images in the decoder windows.
Actually I use a QFH + LNA and at maximum elevation the "global level" is about 40% while noise floor is at 5%, but I suspect a high level of interferences due to wifi hotspots nearby.

Hello Andy,

No it can’t. I suppose that it must exist a Ham soft, as it is a Ham frequency.

Hi All,

Please excuse the "daft laddie" question however, can MultiPSK be used to decode the telemetry from CAS-3G on 145.475 MHZ?

The mode used is quoted as "9.6kbps, GMSK".

Best Regards,

Andy

New release of MULTIPSK (4.44.1)#Multipsk

Patrick Lindecker

Hello to all Ham and SWL,

New release of MULTIPSK (4.44.1)

Due to two annoying regression bugs on the 4.44 version, Multipsk has been updated with the 4.44.1 version. This version is available on http://f6cte.free.fr/index_anglais.htm or on the Earl’s mirror site https://www.paazig.net/f6cte/MULTIPSK_setup.exe.

The first fixed bug is about the LRPT I/Q detection. However, for the ones having pushed the “I<->Q RX” button on the SdR panel to make work LRPT, to avoid to prevent decoding on other modes than LRPT, it is recommended, with the 4.44.1 version:

·         to come back to the “I<->Q RX” button extracted and

·         to push the “Detection of an I/Q inversion” to detect and then store the I/Q inversion (which will be only valid in LRPT).

The second fixed bug is about the only RX modes display.

Thank you Patrick.  I am surprised that the logo isn't round.  I checked that 1:1 is indeed the selected value.

One additional question.

Please see the attached file.  Note the oval shape of the NOAA logo.  It is supposed to be round, not oval.  Checking a couple of other wefax decoders, it is indeed round.

Is there a setting to have the decode aspect ration to be 1:1?

Thanks for the previous answers from others.

George

Hi Patrick
I am actually starting to test Multipsk in LPRT with my RTL/SDR key. I have still to improve the antenna system however in last passage I was able to get some 3800 frames which should suggest that the mechanism is anyway working ( I also could see some pieces of images in the decoder windows so also the connection with decoder looks ok).
However I noted a couple of apparently strange things:
a) The red figure with the percentage remained at 0% despite the fact that some parts of images were received, is this normal?
b) When at end of passage I ask the decoder to generate the image I get an empty window (while some pieces of images were in the vertical bars) . Did I miss something?
Thanks in advance for suggestions and best regards.
Mauro

Re: Multipsk 4.44 and Funcube Pro+

Just to inform you about my tests, the same problem with Funcube appeared using an old version of Multipsk on my W/XP machine. So problem is not related to opsys or Multipsk version, at this point I'd suspect some anomaly in the device. Not a serious issue, I can anyway work with Multipsk and other keys. Anyway I'd be interested in knowing if other users are succesfully working with Funcube Pro+
Regards. Mauro
