Hello Dick,

I'm not sure, with total certainty, to discriminate the correct and the not correct RTL/SDR driver.
Moreover, I think better, for the user, to display all RTL/SDR drivers, good or not, at least to be aware of a possible problem.

Re: multipsk clock problem

Hello,

Click on « Paramètres par défaut » (Default parameters) first. If it does change anything, stop Clock,  delete the CONFCLOC.SER file and re-start Clock.

If it does not work, download again the Multipsk package and replace the Clock.exe.

Notes:

Start  Clock with Administrator rights (click left for properties).

The Multipsk directory must be under C: (C:\MULTIPSK for example, not under C/\PROGRAM).

Trying to run MultiPSK Clock. It use to run fine  but after updating to 1.11.7 I get a error message when starting the program.

The program will start but it comes up in French and will not let me change to English.

If I click on WWVB I get this screen...

Only way to shut it down is with task manager.
Anyone seen this issue?

Thanks

Re: RTL disconnect

Thnaks for comments. In fact in my previous tentatives I found two entries in Zadig (for bulk interface) and just to be safe I changed both drivers.

The curious thing is that when looking at multipsk config screen (select dongle) the first entry is listed with a short description ("ezcap USB 2.0 DVB-T/DAB/FM dongle") while the second entry, i.e. the working one, shows a full identification("ezcap USB 2.0 DVB-T/DAB/FM dongle - R820T tuner - Realtek RTL2838UHIDIR 00000001").

The ZADIG version I had was 2.4,   Same behavior (two entries, only the second working) occurs in SDRSHARP but in this software both entries are shown in initial menu so it was easier to try both and get application running, while in multipsk I had to push the "select" key to see the situation and the fixing was less immediate (I should probably have noticed before the unusual situation in SDRSHARP menu, but as soon as i got it running I forgot the menu...)

Hope this experience can be of help for someone in the future.

Regards. Mauro

I am not very sure and cannot test it now but I think this indicates that you have made an error with ZADIG.

The dongle has multiple interfaces, but only one needs to be changed by Zadig.
If you assign the driver to the wrong interface it does not work.
If you assign the driver to both interfaces MultiPSK will 'see' two dongles where there is only one.

See: https://www.reddit.com/r/RTLSDR/comments/6fhdns/windows_failed_to_open_rtlsdr_device_0_error/
step 4: Slightly Tricky .. FIND the "Composite Device that has your RTL2838 Device" (Not the 2 Entrys for the Device Itself)

Re: RTL disconnect

Patrick Lindecker

Hello Mauro,

It’s curious, as it is as you have implemented 2 different drivers. But normally Zadig replaces the actual driver and does not add one.

If it works it is the essential…

Hi all
I finally got the rtl working on my Win10...
When in the configuration screen, by pressing "Rtl and mode selection" I found two occurrencies for rtl even if only one dongle was connected. Choosing the second one (and not the first initially selected by the product) the problem disappeared. Not clear to me why, but as long as it works it's ok for me...
Thanks everybody for help and suggestions.

For about information on Utility stations (included RTTY), look at what is proposed  by the Klingenfuss editions.

Hello Tor

I have some nowleds of DWD The best frequentie for dwd is 4583 khz USB In the fine program MultiPsk set the parameters to 50 baud reverse and 450 HZ shift for the mark and space They send plain tekst with info golfheigt temp. seawater and so one. Also 5 figures code with info from wheaterstations all over the world. For that press in MultiPsk  Synops ships and after some time you see the wheatercode.

I hope that you receive some info.

Re: Nooelec bare bottom LNAs faulty connection

Sergio Sarabia

The supply is delivered through the output connector, through the Bias-T activating it physically or by software from the SDR.

Re: Nooelec bare bottom LNAs faulty connection

Paul Gulliver

Roland,
The connector marked "Input" goes to the antenna, the connector marked "Output" goes to your dongle/receiver - the DC power feed is also on the "Output" side. When the DC feed is connected a small green led (next to the output connector) should light indicating power is reaching the LNA.
If you connected them incorrectly you have applied DC power to the input of the LNA, this may have damaged them.
I don't know how the Airspy bias tee works but on a V3 dongle the bias tee has to be switched on (or off) when any software is not using the dongle (ie close the software before switching the bias tee)
Sorry, can't help in repairing them, I suspect if they are damaged them throw them away - but test them first with the correct connections :)

Probably I chose the wrong side in my haste as most of  my LNAs do not work properly.
Does using the wrong side cause a short circuit in the LNAs ruining their function ?
Even with my Aispy most of them do not work correctly - apparently despite clicking the Airspy  Bias Tee function my SDRsharp does not show
any signals above the noise level !
So please tell me how to Correctly connect these Nooelec LNAs - perhaps my remaining untested one could be still of use to me ?
Assuming that most of theme have been hit by short circuit due to incorrect connection by me could these be brought back to life somehow ?
Thanks in advance for your most valuable advice.

Re: RTL disconnect

Fred Albertson

Hi Mauro,

I checked my files and the "rtl_sdr.txt" file has a creation date of 5/18/2018.

That is also the "Date Modified" for all of the MultiPSK "PAIR#.TXT" and "??.SER"
files in the MultiPSK directory.  There are other files dated the same.  It is probably
the date of a previous MultiPSK installation on my machine.  When I update
MultiPSk, I copy only recently changed files to the MultiPSk directory to prevent
overwriting data that I have collected or modified, unless Patrick says otherwise.

I'm sorry, but that is all know about it's source.

Good luck on the troubleshooting.

Fred
