Hi Patrick and Mauro,

I use 2 sdr's with Multipsk on a 64 bit Win 10 PC.  I have
had no issues.  They also operate on SDR# and HDSDR and
RTL1090.exe just fine.

Zadig version is:  2.4

rtlsdr.dll is file version 1.0.0.1 from http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/wiki/rtl-sdr

RTL_SDR.txt file reads:

Generic_RTL2832U_R820T_Generic_RTL2832U_77771111153705700 0 -65 137211407 9 A

Hope this helps you in your quest.

Great evening,

Fred

Mauro,

As I said, you must have an error number on the bottom of the Configuration screen. Which is it?

If it is 12, it means that either the installation of the driver made by Zadig has not been done or (as in your case) the driver installed by Zadig is not considered by Windows 10 (“it turns out that Windows 10 defaults to treating the RTL-SDR as a "composite" device and auto installs its own driver for it.”).

The solution is there:  https://www.rtl-sdr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2031

In fact, it is just enough to uncheck the “Ignore Hubs or Composite Parents”  in the Options menu.

Hello Mauro,

Is your PC a 64 bits or a 32 bits (I have never tried in a 64 bits PC and it can be the reason of the problem, so a Multipsk problem)? Perhaps there are users having a feedback about Multipsk using RTL/SDR on a 64 bits PC?

You must have an error number on the bottom of the Configuration screen. Which is it?

About DLL. You could possibly use the last official dll, but I’m almost sure that it will not change anything (first make a backup of the Multipsk dll):

·  Download the official RTL-SDR Windows release from http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/attachment/wiki/rtl-sdr/RelWithDebInfo.zip.

·  Copy the libusb-1.0.dll, rtlsdr.dll and pthreadVC2-w32.dll files from the official RTL-SDR Windows release zip file to your Multipsk folder.

Hi all
I am also experiencing similar problem with RTL-SDR on a new computer with WIN10 . I have installed Multipsk 4.38 outside "Program" directory and it in general  works fine, it also accepts "Direct input" from a Funcube dongle.

I also spent some time to get the RTL dongle working with SDRSHARP (Zadig etc,) but now it works fine. So actual situation is:

MULTIPSK + FUNCUBE : OK
SDRSHARP + RTL : OK
MULTIPSK+ RTL: PROBLEM

When I try to set "DIrect input" from RTL I get an error window saying "problem on a rtl dll" and then lists rtlsdr, libusb-1.0 and msvcr100.  I just tried to replace above dll's with the ones currently working in SDRSHARP but no success.

Any suggestion on thingsd to check?  Thanks. Mauro

Hello Dick,

It corresponds to what I read, i.e the 32 bits dlls for RTL/SDR work for 64 bits PC. So the problem is not about these dll.

Do you know what version of Zadig you use? This because, I read that the 2.0.1.154 version of Zadig works well but not the following versions?

Two questions:
1. Can you clarify "gets disconnected"?
Does this mean that it works fine for some time and then gets disconnected?

2. "on that machine"
So everything works fine on one machine but not on the other machine?
If true than it is machine specific! Correct?

Re: VDL2 Handoff procedure

Hello Patrick,

It was just a suggestion, as it seems many VDL2 loggers are using MultiPSK (which is a great program, congratulations to Patrick ;-)
To use dumpvdl2 you need a (cheap) unix box like Raspberry Pi, which might be a too big change for windows users.

Thank you for considering it..

Re: VDL2LogStats

Stuart

Hi all,

The latest version of VDL2LogStats (v1.3) is now available.

Significant changes in this version:-

-- The fields in the "VDL2 Ground Stations With Details.csv" data file exported from the acars-vdl2.groups.io database can now be configured to select what fields are required to be displayed, and in what order.

-- The Destination Airports output can now be supplemented with additional airport data e.g. EGLL Heathrow Airport

There are new options in the configuration file "VDL2LogStats.ini" -- see Reference Manual Section 6.3 and 6.4 for more information.

The zip file is available in the Files Section of https://groups.io/g/acars-vdl2.

If you are interested in VDL2 and not already a member, then I suggest you join acars-vdl2@groups.io.

I have just released VDL2LogStats v1.2. It can read a VDL2 log file generated by MultiPSK (English, French and Spanish), dumpvdl2 and vdlm2dec, and extracts and displays various statistics e.g.

Number of Messages

Number of Uplink Messages

Number of Downlink Messages

Number of Acars messages,

Number of messages per hour

Number of messages per hour per frequency

List of received ground stations (in various orders)

List of aircraft logged

List of Destination Airports

Broadcast (GSIF) Messages received etc

See acars-vdl2@groups.io message #488. The zip file is available in the Files Section of acars-vdl2@groups.io.

If you are interested in VDL2 and not already a member, then I suggest you join the acars-vdl2@groups.io.

Hello Dick and Sergio,

Giving more meaning to the decoded information can be (and is) done by other programs using the decoding information.

Congratulations to Tomasz (author of dumpvdl2), as the VDL2 is not simple at all, especially the Reed Solomon part.

Thanks Patrick,

Hopefully EA4ZB will update the Spanish translation in the future.

Thanks

Stuart,

There was a small bug (TKS), which is fixed now. I have updated and uploaded the Skeleton_translation_files.ZIP file to my WEB site (a dozen of phrases were missing).

Hi Patrick,

My application VDL2LogStats will accept MultiPSK QSO log files in English, French and Spanish.

When processing VDL2 you get messages that contain...

<snip>

Acceptable alternate ground stations DLS address (hexa): 1091EA / 109......

<snip>

In English it is "Acceptable alternate ground stations DLS address (hexa): "

In French it is "Adresse DLS des autres stations au sol acceptable (hexa): "

Neither of these phrases appear in the English or French Skeleton translation files.

When I generate a QSO log file in Spanish using the translations provided by EA4ZB it defaults to the French phrase.

Should these phrases be added to the Skeleton translation files? Hopefully the correct Spanish phrase will then be include the next release of the Spanish translation file.

Regards

Stuart

Nope. This is XID sequence number. It has nothing to do with the XID type.
