Important update for Firefox users, and other news #updates

Hi everyone,

Recent Moy updates:

  • New plugin version is available, 2.1.5. Minor changes and bug fixes.
  • Starting from 2.1.5, the Firefox version is distributed via the Mozilla Foundation's official online repository, addons.mozilla.org (otherwise known as AMO).
    • Important! Firefox users, please remove the plugin and reinstall it from AMO manually. This is a one-time action required to redirect your browser to AMO. After that, new addon versions will be picked up from AMO automatically.
  • New parsers, parser updates and fixes.

Plugin v2.1.2, site updates #updates

Hi everyone,

Recent Moy updates:

  • New plugin version is available, 2.1.2. Mostly internal changes to improve stability and handle errors better.
  • Website is updated (and moved to GitHub pages). It's much more simple now, the old intricate stuff is gone.
    • Alas, server-side rendering without the plugin is gone as well. It may be restored in the future, if there's a demand.
  • Some parser updates and fixes. You can watch MoyData for notifications about these kind of updates.

Plugin v2.1.0 #updates

Hi everyone,

Plugin version 2.1.0 is ready.

Changes:

  • The Welcome page is added. It is shown to new users the first time they install the plugin (and will be shown one time for existing users, once they upgrade the plugin to 2.1.0). It provides a list of URL to test the plugin on.
  • Also, some advanced stuff is added to the plugin. It probably is not interesting to most users, but vital to users who want to control the plugin better, including making their own looks:
    • The Advanced sub-menu is added to the pop-up. You can open the plugin's settings via it, as well as the parser and the template used to render the current page (if any).
    • The Settings page is added. There, you can specify GitHub account to take looks from. The default value is MoyDesign. If you want to play with parsers and templates, you can fork MoyData and specify your GitHub account there.

Plugin 2.0, major changes #updates

Hi everyone,

Major changes today: plugin v2.0 arrives.

Changes to users

  • Reworked plugin pop-up. It's now simpler and (hopefully) nicer looking. It's also mobile-friendly.
  • No need to have an account on moy.design anymore. The plugin doesn't rely on the site now.
    • The site became out-of-date. It'll be updated soon.
  • As a result, some of your settings may be lost. By default, the plugin uses Gray template. So, you'll need to change it for your favorite.
  • The plugin now renders known pages by default. To return certain pages their original look, click 'Original look' in the pop-up.
  • The 'Share link' feature is temporarily gone. It'll be restored in a future release.

Internal changes

Parsers and templates

Also, some changes to parsers and templates:

  • Better support of comments in all 'reader' templates, graceful display of hidden (folded) comments
  • Better comment support in the Livejournal article parser

Best regards,
Moy.Design

Recent #updates

Hi everyone,

Recent Moy updates are below.

General

  • All 'reader' templates now support comments.

Plugin

  • Plugin v1.4.0 is available. It includes new engine changes (see below). Make sure the plugin is updated, as some parsers already use new features.

Site

  • Cosmetic changes

Engine

  • Parsers now support redirects. It means the parser creators may specify an alternative data source instead of the original page. To make things simple (and more secure), arbitrary redirects are not allowed. For now, only query parameters (the stuff in URL after ?) can be modified. The details are here.
  • attribute key can now be used as a top-level rule key, even without a match block. In this case, it parses the specified attribute of the parent node.
  • Parsers now can change tokens they parsed from the source. The details are here.
