I would much prefer the Merc 4.6T chassis to the Fiat and the Fiat tag

the front and a rear bed over a garage layout on the 6 wheel Merc 4.6T
please let me know.

We have looked at 2 vans so far and neither has been good enough to
persuade us to buy despite the sellers assuring us they were in great
condition only to find they were not :( We have seen a Euromobile and a
Chieftain.

It all makes us reluctant to travel miles and miles for a viewing. Hence
broadening our search to include the smaller Fiats and Mercs with a view
to up rating the weight. We are not far from Peterborough and both work
so traveling a long way is difficult.

We are not in any great rush as we will be working until October when we
will be free to head off south.

Re: Fiat Ducato Merc 316 Weight Upgrade

Derek Sims

If you’re prepared to accept something pre-2006 you could look for something on a Merc 416 chassis (double rear wheels on a single axle.

Our 2004 Esterel 21 had a 650kg payload on a 3.8T chassis, but there was an option to have it on 416 chassis at 4.6T MAM, so perhaps 1.4T payload.

We traded in our 2004 Model 21 for £20k in 2017 so it would have sold for about £25k. Very durable vehicles. We have seen them with over 150,000 miles on the clock.
