Consider having it done at a boat yard. They often have facilities for dealing with "big" vehicles like ours and are often overlooked by motorhomers.

Van Respray
We have an Adria Maxivan, a 10yo converted Fiat Ducato hi-top panel van. We want to have a respray - the original Fiat paintwork is a Friday afternoon job. Before I start looking for someone to do

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
Hi,
Problem with a lot of GPS systems is ongoing subscription/update costs.
Manufacturers definitions of lifetime updates can also be disingenuous, and leave you in the lurch when they deem the unit

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
Yes the sometimes incorrect speed limit warnings are a pain - plainly ported over from the truck version where unladen weight determines some of the limits. I wonder how many have noticed and how many

Although I’m a Tomtom fan, I have tried others, - I never have found one that matched the Tomtom. Now using the Truck version - Pro-Trucks 5150, which has all the bells and whistles required

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
I agree with everything that you say Neill and I understand about mass markets. And, yes, I managed to download the poi (equivalent) of camper contact onto a Garmin but it never displayed on the map

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
I do all that on Garmin. Not exactly intuitive though.
It then all comes back to the difficulty of (the user) adapting to a new system with a different concept of how it should all work, rarely

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
It is a pity, the only thing I can offer with regards to POIs is something like Viewranger. Even if you're in another country with limited data, if you've prepared before hand and downloaded the free

We're still using a 12 year old TomTom because when I was wondering a few years ago about a replacement I found that several of the features that we rely on had been removed.
We make very extensive

Re: Need a Sat-Nav?
I've a Garmin Dezl Truck. 780 I think.
I've covered 142,000 miles with it since I got it. I can't recall how long I've had it but its at least 3 years now.

Very interesting Martin. I tried your little route on all my devices and all passed the test except for the Apple maps on my phone which took the bad route.

Interesting that my TomTom phone app just been updated - gave in after
nagging when trying to use it only locally while stranded in new-to-me
