More on CLs
We nowadays phone to see if they are open or full but talking to owners they
have a problem with "no-shows" ie bookings not arriving and no call to
cancel. The better CL's seem to be fully booked

I was just considering posting the same question,having installed
a Hilka compass 3 or 4 years ago.It was just possible to trim to
give a correct reading when new-now it is all over the place.

Any GPS will act as a compass, but only when moving. There is also a second
or two lag due to the update rate. It needs to be powered, if only by an
internal battery, but these don't last

I suppose every hosepipe ever manufactured might fall into one of three categories.
a) there's your everyday garden-variety (arf arf) hose which is cheap to buy, yet kinks
easily and folds ... erm
