Bulk Gas Tank
Ernest Bull
My tank is very rusty. It needs to be dropped off of the van, given a damned good wire brushing and a coat of or three of Hammerite.
Not easy to do now as it has about 50L of gas in it, but how easy a job is it when empty? Anyone ever done it? Any advice? Suggestions? TIA ———— ErnB

plastic Bumper Repairs
Ernest Bull
I cracked one side of my Hymer’s massive rear bumper. Someone else did a demolition job on the other side. Bad Waldsee wanted almost £1,000 and it would involve a ferry ride and a 1500 miles round trip. I wouldn’t even think of asking the Robber Barons for a price. I was thinking of a fibreglass repair kit and a lot of elbow grease when I happened upon this little backstreet outfit in Bristol - Took the van in yesterday AM, just picked it up with a far better than new, beautiful shiny bumper. £250! I am over the moon. Highly recommended! They also do body repairs and respraying to an equally high standard from the work I saw there. ErnB

I can see your problem as haven’t been able to find simple solution on Google. I think I would go to a plumbing merchant and see what they have got rather than a dealer as they will have a large variety of fittings for various purposes one of which might work.
When I had a similar problem using a length of flexible pipe between two plastic fittings of marginally different sizes I wrapped insulating tape around one bit of the rigid pipe to increase the diameter and then used a jubilee clip to nip up – worked for me.
Good luck.

A tyre tread unwrapped and smashed the shower outlet on my Laika Ecovips 7r. I bought UK 32mm fittings for the simple job but it needs 30mm bits. Where can I get them? I tried one dealer with no success. Malcolm No virus found in this message.

Re: [MH-list] At Last!
Ernest Bull
That’s a point. No, 16Mbps, tops, but Vodafone still offer 38Mbps fibre even though that speed is not available where I am. OTOH, would it be faster than my current, promised, top speed of 17Mbps from PO Broadband? Especially in the early evening when it can take up to 15 or even 30 secs to load a webpage. OTOH2, over the 18 months contract, I will only pay £19 a month overall. If I am still here then, the Bristol systems may have been boosted to higher speeds. Or Relish could have arrived. https://www1.relish.net/athome ———- ErnB

Smoke and mirrors Ernie, see:- Can Vodaphone actually provide 38Mbps or more where you live. The connection is still over BT lines. Peter S

Like all sales of s/h items, the problem is finding the person that wants what you have. When we moved home last October, I thew away years of collected items many worth having. But the finding of that buyer, was impossible. I quite fancy it myself but seem to remember it's over 3,500kg and I'm not allowed to upsize ......again ;-)Not over 3,500kg. It was designed to be so, not wishing to have the problems many have with DVLA over 70. I also had full Cat C and D licences at the time. I was quite surprised at it's weigh after the body was added. It was weighed three times and the averages taken. Payload was 679kg, so also under 3,050kg UL weight for speed limits. Reg

Re: [MH-list] Re: Buying abroad

Carol, Congratulations on selling yours. Might be worth double checking the current rules around importing - a friend importing his 3rd van from Germany in 20 years hit snags this time and it took about 3 months to register it. I can't remember the exact reasons - all related to paperwork on a new van. Martin Martin Bennett

Reg, I doubt if there s any formula that can be applied - Carol's correct yours is a very special vehicle. The downside is that there is a limited number of people interested in anything but the standard ones, however, those that are find there are few around. At the end of the day it's what your happy to take for it. Add a bit to that and see what response you get. I quite fancy it myself but seem to remember it's over 3,500kg and I'm not allowed to upsize ......again ;-) Good luck Martin Martin Bennett

Loss in value of 11-13 year old motorhome.
Reg <lists.reg@...>
Many here have changed their motor in recent years.
I'm selling mine, which is 11 to 13 years old. The range in years is because the vehicle is 2003 and the body 2005. What amount of depreciation should I expect? Reg.
