Has anyone ever lost a van fitted with a Strike-Back?

Michael, it would indeed help if you could send photos.

I´ve sent an email out to quite a lot of people and to Noahs Arc animal rescue in Murcia who have an email list so it might get further distributed.. but a photo would probably make a big difference.

Also newspapers that are distributed all over Costa Blanca and Costa Calida and Costa Del Sol are the Round Town News, and the Costa Blanca News.. they both have regular ads from the main charities each week, and they both have websites.

I´m racking my brains for ideas.. I know how awful I´d feel if it was me and my pets..

Hi Barry

This is to let you know where I'm coming from: I've been driving
websites for the past fifteen years from handwritten HTML through
Dreamweaver 3 to the current CS3 version 9.

1. I know current fashion is for the black pages but there are people
with eye problems who cannot cope with the contrast.
2. I lost count of the number of links that came up with error message
404
3. Finally I had a message from Synthasite sayjng site being
republished blah, blah. then became a sales attempt for free websites
and no matter what I tried I could not get back to your home page.

I think the idea is good but the execution droops somewhat. Most
decent ISPs include a reasonable amount of free webspace in your shoes
I'd move to someone like Clara

Barry Webb
Thanks for your comments.. the problem was this afternoon that the site WAS being worked on and continually republished! That is the reason.. Im still testing everything and re-doing things.. partly the reason for asking for constructive feedback..

It should work ok for a while again now, Im leaving it for today! Get yourself a free magazine now before I start working on it again LOL

Kind regards

My sympathies, Mike. Rotten trick in anyone's book. I suppose your dog gave
the thief a good licking. I only hope that the tale will not be compounded
by unnecessary cruelty or violence to your pets.

What van was it? Did it have an immobiliser or alarm fitted? This may make
other owners aware of any shortcomings in their own security.

Mine has a StrikeBack alarm with the text message option. I think that it
may make it easier to track - providing the villains do not wreck the phone
bit.

I can only wish you a speedy resolution to your loss either with your van's
recovery in good order, or a sympathetic hassle-free pay out from your
insurers.

Hi Ern,

Yes they can scan the microchips and access them for the numbers, but a slight problem, they have to ring the UK for the owners address.

They have all our phone numbers including the UK ones, the Guardia Civil also has the chip numbers and mobile numbers.

As of 17.50 Spanish time, no trace of anything.

Surely the chip would be detected if it turns up in some dogs' home. Then,
we only have to hope that the UK ID numbers are accessible to the Spanish
and you will be traced.

Again, good luck.

I regret that I can find nothing positive to say about the site
either. I tried the link to the free magazines and it didn't work. I
trawled around the TV section but all I could get was an audio-only
version of yesterday's BBC London news. The pages of text are really
difficult to read; it's hard to find where the hyperlinks are - often
you're told to click on a "banner" which either doesn't seem to exist,
is miles down the page or which just doesn't work.

To me it goes to show that to look professional you need to spend a
little money on professional design and presentation.

These sincere recommendations to patch or delete items can be scams and are
efforts by the bad guys to either make your machine even more vulnerable to
attack or to destroy it. The best advice has always been to ignore them.

OK, so you go thru to a page that looks like it's run by MS, but who knows?
Look at those "authentic" Barclays and Nat West bank sites asking folk to
confirm pin numbers and other details! (Still the most successful scam, so I
understand.)

Perhaps another reason to get a Mac??
Well, of course. Or a Linux based machine. Would you really buy a tyre with

So sorry to hear about your stolen motorhome and your cat and dog.

Where were you in Spain. Can you give a description of the motorhome and cat and dog. We live in southern Spain and I know most of the animal rescue centres here so could ask them to keep an eye out.
