They do the mirror guards for motorhomes, if you search for mirrorguards you will find him. I bought my Peggy peg awning tie down kit from him at a show but he now does a similar product but there is still the same kit.

I think they were the people that I originally ordered from. Can you remind me of their name again pleases. Mainly supply car mirrors or something similar.

Remoaners, scaremongers, project fearers, etc were all ignored, but
now the UK is experiencing what was forecast.

In the amateure radio world, we are already seeing many examples of
European manufacturers and suppliers no longer supplying to the UK.
Those that do are seeing excessive charges from carriers before
delivery.

I ordered another Logitech BT mouse from Amazon UK on the 18th.
Delivery (Prime) expected 24th March as coming from an EU warehouse.

I've got a friend in Germany with his address on my Amazon UK account
for about 10 years. I would order for him to bring over on his next
visit to the UK, or I'd collect when I visited him.

But Covid has stopped this.

Alan.

I suspect it relates to extra Brexit paperwork.

They will refund the money but even that’s likely to prove problematic as my credit card has been changed in the meantime for unspecified “security reasons” - so that’s now a  new number!

No friends in Germany - some in Austria + relatives in Belgium, France & Crete - but not worth the effort. I just thought they looked useful. I’m sure a supplier will turn up here eventually.

I agree it is wait and see.  We’re thinking of heading north and going to Hereford and to friends at South Shian in Scotland and maybe get to Edinburgh where there is a good THS with bus across the road. Then York for a few days into Moors/Peak. Just a vague idea

Nothing booked.

Hopefully we get somewhere - as long as it’s NIT Cornwall!!  As you say packed out!

Then on Thursday having gained that approval we were told there is a shortage of vaccine and so it’s likely to be the end of April or start of May before we are operational.

On the Motorhome front we have our booking to Cornwall in June transferred from last year, but some complication around school holiday dates means that our pitch wasn’t available for the first week - so just 2 weeks there and a clash with the G7 meeting that has been organised in St Ives. We’re expecting a very crowded Cornwall and may decide to give it a miss depending on the COVID situation nearer the time.

We normally also visit Cornwall in September, but that’s unlikely this year as we haven’t booked anything. France may be possible or Scotland, Ireland or Jersey!

Heading for London next month to see son No.2 & family. We have booked a few days on the Hatfield/Welwyn CMC site and we’ll see how that goes or if it goes - who knows what will happen next month.

We’ll do our best to make the most of whatever comes our way ..... even if we stay in our garden - there are far worse places!

Thanks Carol, I'll wade through this when I've got time.  (The images get lost in the email I got - they are there if you look on the io website.)

Does anyone know if it will be possible to just get a visa that would allow longer time in Schengen?  A multi-entry 5 year visa, say, wouldn't be too much trouble.

In normal times, we do a couple of trips each year, normally 2-3 months, so would probably be OK with 90out of 180, but we only book our return when we're ready to come home, and it would be nice not to have to worry about the odd few days.

Does anyone know someone with a travelling job that requires a lot of time in Schengen?  They, or their company, may have solved this.

A Google throws up lots of links about getting a visa but it seems impossible as a tourist. Look at this site part way down.:-

https://www.nomadicmatt.com/travel-blogs/how-to-legally-stay-in-europe-for-more-than-90-days/

"The Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forums, while a mess of random posts, are good for one thing: stuff like this. I came across one great quote: “This topic has been discussed ad nauseam here on the boards for years. If someone found a way to extend a Schengen, we would have heard of it by now.”

He’s right. Simply put, you cannot extend your tourist visa or entry stamp. There’s a 90-day limit, and that’s that."
